Guest guest
Sandy, That is great news, Bre is doing so well and we are all so very happy to hear her accomplishments. Her strength and progress inspires all of us, and gives us the hope to keep fighting back the OCD. Keep the Faith! She went on the Haunted Mansion ride! For her that was a big step! She has avoided in the past anything to do with ghosts! She told me it was good exposure! I am so proud of her. It is great for us moms when our children face a fear that in the past caused alot of anxiety. She did have anxiety but she bossed it back. Just the fact she didn't avoid makes me realize she is learning the skills her therapist has taught her. Thanks for listening. Guest guest
Another thanks for posting your reply of hope and something positive. I've often wondered if there are plenty of cases of children that grow out of quicker and they don't get involved in groups like this one. Maybe that's just me being hopeful and guess we'll never know. I'm happy for your son and your family. What are the signs of high functioning autism? Was he diagnosed with that condition before or after the fevers started? Guest guest
's autism manifested when he was about 18 months, which is classic timing for these kids. High functioning autism is just one form of a broad spectrum. The average person on the street would probably not notice anything wrong with . If you where to spend some time with him however you would begin to notice his struggles and delays. His biggest struggle is comprehesion, much of the way you and I see the world and process information is foriegn to him, he is a bit of a loner but excells in some areas such as math, until it becomes languaged based that is. His memorization skill is incredible, if it something that interest him, (video games, Disney movies, some music). He is very affectionate, which is a blessing, many kids with autism show no emotion. I don't know what the long term holds for , we just enjoy him day to day. > > Another thanks for posting your reply of hope and something positive. Guest guest
Please don't give up. I know the fear that sets up when the thought of not being able to rid yourself and home of these things. There is more and more information out on the internet now than there was 2 years ago. Read all you can. I had no hope for my little dogs and I had to loose them over this, now there is a site that actually tells how to use Clorox on your pets to kill off the skin mess and detox their little bodies. http://www.holisticvetpetcare.com/felines-skin-allergy.htm There is hope.
