Guest guest
Hi everyone, I love the sun info! I am going to make plans to lay out this week and maybe it will clear up the rash on my chest. The bleach approach is not working for me. I have a new plan. My fiancé knows someone who got rid of this using lavender oils in a carrier oil and of course vacuuming everyday. I love it! It feels and smells great. I rub it into the spots, especially at night and do you know, I can feel a spine sticking out of the active ones. After some time, I can work it lose. I wonder if I have to wash it down the drain, or of it is smothered in the Jojoba oil. Then, I am rubbing Epsom salts into the area and it feels so good, it is like a massage. I like this gentle approach for my body. I will let you know my results over time. Jeff, did you ever see them move? How did you know they were dead? ~Pamela “There is no way to happiness. Guest guest
Bed/matress - I threw mine out and sleep on a $10 non-valor twin size air matress from Walmart. Yup, I cringed when dumping out the bed but lots of us here have done the same. I vacuum the floor and also the surface of the matress everyday. I put menthol crystals inside the matress for good measure - probably not doing anything but did it anyway. As for blankets, I have a think, fleece type blanket from Ikea that I can bake everyday since I don't necessarily wash everyday. I've tried DE all over my place but I don't have carpet and it was bothering my lungs too much so I stopped. I have Roach Prufe dumped all over my place now - proceed with caution! As you may have noticed, there's a big discussion/debate on the forum over using boric acid in unintended ways. As with anything chemical, you have been warned. For me personally, burning menthol crystals and fogging w/ cedarcide was helping the environment greatly until my neighbor upstairs complained last week about menthol/cedar smell coming up into his unit. I had no choice but to resort to boric acid. I used to use Windex very heavily, spraying everything and everywhere but I don't so much anymore. The ammonia fume is awful. I do spray my computer area (keyboard/mouse/desk) with alcohol/witch hazel/tea tree/cedar mix daily - it does it's job. Don't get bothered when I spray. If I don't spray, they come back. Clothes - I wear one time and dump them in the wash machine. I may do laundry daily or maybe once in 2 days (maybe 3 sometimes). When ready to wash, I soak in hot water first (pausing the washer) with borax mixed in. After a few hours, I add detergent and let the washer finish out the course. I have my water heater set to 150F. Ppl put ammonia also but make sure to wash with cold water if using ammonia. Never let ammonia mix with bleach! Washed clothes, I dump them in a tote with menthol crystals and moth balls. I used to have giant zip loc bags inside the totes but I got lazy so I just dump straight into the totes now. They are not airtight but I think the menthol and moth balls keep them under control and away. I've tried it all. Bifen, beta cyfluthrin, Nylar. To me, they never eradicated them. Bifen made my car worse. I've heat treated my car many times using halogen bulbs (search around late Oct/Nov to find those posts). It did a lot of good but I was constantly reinfecting the car. Then certain things in the car started to break b/c of it - my break light wouldn't come on - an electrical problem. Good thing my car's a beater. Currently, I burn menthol in the car. I try to do this daily. I use a wax tart burner with tea light since my parking deck has no access to electricity; otherwise, i'd use an electric wax tart burner. Many have also picked up cheap coffee mug warmers from Walgreens. It's electric however so if you're like me, pickup a wax burner. Do this every day religiously and you'll see a difference. I also spray my car seats/dashboard/floor area down with alcohol/witch hazel/tea tree/cedar mix before getting in (don't forget seat belt too) and I put a painter's clear plastic drape over the seat. I cut the drape for the seat size and one roll will give me about 6 sittings. I put it up over and around the headrest and tuck it in where the headreast meets the seat. The feet part, you have to straighten it out. It does move around in the footwell while I drive so I try to be careful not to move so much. Now comes the body. I take sulfur tablets daily (30x), ReVoxil anti- parasitic (recommended by zmooks - not sure if it's working but it sure makes you poop alot!), I'm on New Hope 2 and taking daily spice baths (that Bob came up with that's now part of NH2) as part of New Hope 2. I have bathed for the last 21 days (last 10 w/ spice bath) straight and it's helping but for me personally, I don't see stuff come out of my body. Some ppl see a mass exodus some don't. It just proves the point that we're all dealing w/ different buggers. I personally like the spice bath b/c it leaves a thin layer of oil on your skin. I also put a cup of epsom salt into my spice baths. Then I put NH2 balm over my body when the skin's still a bit wet. Again, for me, I think it's more about preventing things from bothering my skin as opposed to drawing buggers out of my skin. I used to put sublimed sulfur powder (Humco brand) in my baths before doing the spice baths but sulfur would make me peel. However I was having good success w/ borax/epsom salt/baking soda/tea tree/cedarwood/orange plus but it was too hard on my skin if I bathed with it for more than 4 days straight. I also use 10% sulfur soap when washing my body, followed by ESP NH2 soap. Taking bath is the part I hate doing the most b/c it feels like the most work I have to do. As much as I hate taking my daily baths, I think it's necessary. when I get out of bath, I rub NH2 balm with 2-3 drops of spice bath all into my wet hair. I do also use ESP shampoo so sometimes, I'll mix in the shampoo. Then my hair just dries. Not bullet-proof but works for a few hours, esp when wet. I also take MSM, daily multi-vitamins, and vitamin D3 (recommended by Trish). I'm waiting on my Lugol's solution order to come in (helps restored out-of-balance thyroid which most of us have). All of the above protocol works to maintain but nothing's been the silver bullet. Since repeated cedarcide foggings seemed to be helping, I was going to up the frequency from once a week (I had done 3 foggings spread 7 days apart) to like every 3 days until all gone, but unfortunately, I never got to test it out b/c of my neighbor. Grrrrr. Cedarcide is very expensive. But I was going to just take the plunge and buy 8 gallon worth and fog like crazy... but then again, the neighbor... These are just the things that I do. Everyone has their own protocol. You can begin by copying someone's but eventually you'll always find yourself adjusting to your own method. Good luck and God bless! -k > > > Hello All. > > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts! Guest guest
s.ross--just wanted to let you know that putting the bed legs in oil won't work for mites (although it's a good anti-bedbug measure once they're no longer in the bed). It would be definitely be good to be able to soak your clothes overnight in a washer, and it's usually hard to do that unless it's your own. Some people soak clothes for 24 hours in other containers and then put them through a wash. As for your car, I sprayed with Windex daily, then Raid daily, finally with a mix of bifen, nylar, and dustmite. I'm not having anymore activity there that I'm aware of. You've probably seen a great post from Kihun on current protocol. You'll beat the little monsters, but I do worry about your going back to that so-infested house. Is there any way you can treat it for a while before moving back in? ES > > > Hello All. > > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts! Guest guest
Hi Ross For sleep ,first pray to God that he will deliver you ,, He will , I sleep on an air mattress , the bug finds it way into the mattress covers on regular beds, then every nite is a new re-infestation. I mop the floor with 1 cup borax & 1 gallon of hot water to disollve. the borax , then set the washed, with soap or bleach air mattress on the wet floor. The wet seal at the air mattress to floor makes it impossible for them the climb up. I never get bit when I sleep , ever. In the am I spray a mist of 1 cup borax & 1 cup epsom in hot water to dissolve the borax , I spray this in the entire sleeping area since I know they have come to me for a snack. This am spraying will take out many of the bugs. Cvs brand ant traps also work very well , it takes 2-5 days but this bug almost dissapears after putting them out . 1 per rom & 1 by the computer. I use Selsun blue shampoo. it is what Shan on Shanspirations used & she is cured. google: Shanspirations invisible biting bug , .........she is great God bless you , Bill s.ross01 wrote: > Hello All. > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts! Guest guest
Hello ES, Thank you for your concern. I have been thinking about (and praying for) all of you. I do that everyday. Anyway, as to going back to that house, I almost feel that I might as well. I have since infested a new house- again, as I have been without a car, money, a washer and dryer and the basic tools to fight this. I continue to wonder about " levels " of infestation, and what I have done or have not done to fight it. I have been staying in one of a developer's " model " homes. I was honest with him. I told him of the horror of this infestation, and I told him that he was taking a chance by letting me stay there. However, I truly thought that I had it licked, when after the first few days following " abandonment " , I was not bitten, and I told him that I thought perhaps it was over. Unfortunately, this new house has drapes, couches, upholstered chairs, carpetting, fancy rugs, etc. As irony would have it, my friend just moved his washer and dryer to another house he owns (and lives in) on the opposite side of town, leaving me and my son without the benefit of these tools. I have had no car or money since I got here... I thought I was doing alright despite the lack of basics to fight these demons. I have had food enough, heat and lights, of course. And I was believing for a little while that I was winning the fight, but two nights ago, they came back with a vengeance! This is a rather large house, and so I have been moving from room to room, in order to get sleep or a break from the torment... I indeed get a breather for a day or two, but ultimately they just follow me. I have pretty much exhausted the rooms. This entire place is awfully infested. My developer friend went out of the country for a couple of weeks and during that time, I was calling a couple of his associates for help. But everyone was busy with one thing or another. I told them about the infestation and unfortunately no took it seriously. I just feel that if I had had a few more " tools " that maybe the infestation would not be what it is... Maybe??? Of course, even this is speculation. I really stressed to my " rescuers " before they came to rescue me from my first infested house, that this was a very real problem and that they were at risk. Well, my developer returned from overseas a few days ago and yesterday he told me that something has been biting him and keeping him awake at night. I gasped, and prayed. I told him that I hope that he has not gotten them, but to be honest with you guys, I really believe he has. I was at his home just a few times, but when I was there yesterday evening sitting on his couch, I was being crawled upon and bitten! I thought to myself, " Oh no! " I honestly do not know how to begin my life again, because if these things are as contagious as they seemingly are, there will be no end of them. The world is due to be infested with these bugs. Even if I am as meticulous as I have been, if I am able to carry them with me to everywhere I go, I will infest every environment I spend any time in and potentially many people. Does it does matter what ridiculous measures I take, if these things are as insidious and resillient as they seem to be? And what other thing can I do? Surrender my child to the state or to his father and become a bag lady? I do not believe this is God's will. I guess I have to live with these things somehow and just accept the fact that inevitably some places and people I come into contact with will get these nasty little bugs. I have to continue fighting them, of course, as I cannot sleep at all or have any level of comfort if I am not vigilant- spraying, powdering, etc. etc. I guess my plan of abandonment did not work. Maybe I will go back to the original infested house, to all of my belongings and my car. What was the use of this. I do not know that I gained a thing. Is the infestation better? I am not sure, but I am sure I need sealed hard-wood floors, a plastic bed, plastic furniture-if any at all, a HOT washer and dryer, a dehumidifier and an air conditioner in the summer, an endless supply of mothballs and crystals, thousands of sealable zip-lock bags for clothing, DE and Roach Prufe by the ton, etc. etc. Life will never ever be the same for me again. After saying all of that, I must mention that there is one irreplaceable and precious part of this story: the Lord has been my hiding place, and my fortress through this entire ordeal. Additionally, He is my deliverer as well. Why He allows those He loves to walk through something like this is truly beyond me, but nevertheless He is there and in Him, though I have to admit I get frustrated with this " mess " , I have peace which passes even my understanding. God bless you, ES and all of you vigilant Bird Mite fighters out there. -s.ross > > > > > > Hello All. > > > > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts! Guest guest
Hi again, ES. Hmmm... So, using a real bed ever again, even with the very expensive mattress covers and cups of mineral oil for the legs will not be very effective? You may be right. My ex-fiance and several other people whom I have recently infested have found that plastic mattresses are really the way to go, though, I have to admit, my fantasy is to find a way to live as close as possible to what I used to believe was " normal " . Thanks. Hey, does anyone out there in Bird Mite land still have a real bed? I actually have been sleeping on air mattresses too, but I dream of a day when something else might be possible. Thank you again. > > > > > > Hello All. > > > > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts! Guest guest
s.ross, I believe God will ultimately deliver you as long as you keep asking and believing. Until this is all over for you, please don't be going to anyone else's homes or sit in their cars, as well as not inviting anyone over to yours. The bugs didn't necessarily follow you to each of the rooms you slept in. You probably carried them into the rooms. As tough as it is to accept, we are carriers of these demon critters and the ppl we come in contact with are subject to getting infested. It has been a very tough 5 months for me but I have not gone to anyone's homes or sat in their cars. It's too serious of a problem if you infest them. Also, I've posted this a few days ago but please reconsider when thinking about telling your situation to others. It's good that you told your developer friend but in general, the less ppl you tell, the better it will be for you in the long run. Finally, have you gone through a serious dumpage session where you throw away things? It'll be much easier to clean and fight this thing the less stuff you have. I've thrown away stuff (junk) I've hoarded over years. Makes me wonder why I kept them for so long. Keep praying (I am)... -k > > > > > > > > > Hello All. > > > > > > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts! Guest guest
S. R. - I sleep on a regular mattress (replaced after the infestation period). I had abandoned the house I was in Nov 2007, and returned to it summer of 2008 and have been here ever since. I used so many different approaches that I can't really say which did what, but primarily I used as many oxidative approaches as possible (in the environment, on me, and in me). I stayed away from chemicals and ate organically as much as possible. Vitamins, internal cleanses, Opaline Dry Oxy caps, minerals, Dead Sea Salt soaks, milk thistle, farinfrared pad. Clean with borax, washing soda, orange oil. Use orange oil to kill bugs. And pray a lot. Bessie > > > > > > > > > Hello All. > > > > > > I am grateful to everyone of you out there for your posts!
