South Asian Parliamentarians Meeting on HIV/AIDS

Dear AIDS INDIA e-FORUM,

The Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development

(AFPPD) with the Indian Association of Parliamentarians on Population

and Development (IAPPD) will organize a South Asian Parliamentarians

Meeting on HIV/AIDS in New Delhi on 1-2 August at the Ashoke Hotel.

It will be attended by parliamentarians from South Asian countries as

well as Japan, China, Australia, Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia.

The meeting will discuss the role parliamentarians can play in the

HIV/AIDS Programme specifically in removing the stigma and monitoring

the implementation ofthe programme. UNFPA offices from New York are

also expected to attend.
