First of all, I do not believe all the folks on this list are being attacked by the same creature.I think some kinds of mites are better at making themselves at home with humans than others; some really need their original host to reproduce, others apparently do not.

I know I had at least one mite because I saw it. the bites on my body are different from flea bites, because once you scratch a fleabite, after a few days, it goes away. The bites on me now actually heal from my scratching and then continue to be very itchy

finally, i've been dealing with fleas all my life. I learned that trying to drown them in hot water does not work unless there is soap in the water (which breaks the surface tension and they can't float anymore) using that theory, i soaked all of my bedding this weekend in hot soapy water for 30 minutes before washing, and i believe that i drowned them all.

Mind you, i didn't have a large infestation to start with.I will be rewashing my bedding either today or thursday, doing the soak routine again.good luck.-- mimi torchia boothby
