Oh no!! So then the AIL does not kill these kinds of mites??????I have been dealing with this for ten YEARS now. I was able to get it pretty much under control so that it is not ruining my life now, but I still have open sores from my elbows to my shoulders. They seem to have seatedthemselves in the fatty tissue of my elbow joints and upper arms. But three days ago, my egg-laying hen that had disappeared showed up with 16 new chicks. She had nested somewhere hidden in the bushes. I lifted her and the babies up to put them in safe sleeping quarters, and forthe next two days experienced exactly what you all are talking about. These are teeny little turquoise rods thatdon't even appear to move, but they are everywhere.I sprayed the whole house and my bed and pillows, all with epsom salts, and me too, all over. That has stopped it on me and in my bed, but how do I get rid of them on my hen and chicks - - and by now, the whole yard too????I was going to use the AIL for that. ......groan....... I was even driven to suicide before by these things. They found me two days later, dead, but the miracle of modern science brought me back to life after 11 days in a coma. When I got out of the hospital after months on IV Solumetro (?) antibiotics, the itchies were completely gone. But there was this golfball size swollen lump on the inside of my upper right arm. I was afraid that the mites were congregated there and hiding from the meds. No doctors would even biopsy it for me. Sure enough, after several weeks the symptoms slowly returned, but stayed in my upper arm areas. Very very strange. I can seewhy no one will believe it. Still........How can I get them eradicated off the chickens and out of the coops and yard now???? She must have caughtit from some wild birds where she hid the nest. .....moan.....Oh, and you post photos in the "PHOTO" section. It's easy.Willow> >> > There is a product out of Australia by a company called > > Veta Farms that is to kill lice, but it is safe enough to spray> > right on newly hatched canaries and in their food and water.> > It is called AIL, Avian Insect Liquidator. > > > > I get it online from a company called All Bird Products.> > Here is the link:> > > > > http://www.allbirdproducts.com/newproductpages/avian_insect_liquidator> .html> > > > They also sell a product called Scatt, also from Veta Farms, out of> > Australia. Willow -

It doesn't mean it won't work for you. I don't know that we had the

same situation. I had a large aviary and was so sick I couldn't keep

up with it.

I would HIGHLY recommend Poultry Shield:

http://bioclean.us/index.html - click on the chicken when you get to

the site.

How many chickens do you have?
