Hi,

either get a blow up mattress or the painters plastic (6mm) and wrap your

mattress in it and duck tape it. I know you can get both at Walmart for cheap.

I got mine at Walmart. IT has a zipper so the whole mattress is enclosed. They last a long time and you can spray organic orange cleaner or whatever to clean it to kill mites before you go to bed.

I would like to add that the zipper mattress covers and pillow cases didn't seem to help with some us here. They seem to be small enough to transverse those zippers. The painters plastic involves a tiny bit more work, but worth it in my case. Buy clear plastic packing tape in with the duct tape section. The tape and plastic can be found in the painting section of WalMart. Also, the zippered pillow cases......One day while cleaning in bright sunlight, I caught a glimpse of black specks. I scrubbed and they wouldn't come off. So I took them out in the sunlight and these things were embedded in the textured plastic. Painters plastic is smooth and something in which I have not found anything embedded in throughout this ordeal.......Frito

Hi,

I agree with Frito--do not get the zippered mattress cover (vinyl) from

Walmart--I think they can go thru them.

Weird thing--I do fing embedded things in my double-wrapped 6mm painters plastic

mattress covering--hmmm things are better tho since i got it.

Hi Lucy.....

First thing I do is strip my bed and douse it with windex. Top, sides, bottom, the floor. I let it dry that way. I leave no sheets or covers on during the day. First thing in the am, those things go directly in the wash and are already in the dryer prior to starting my day. Before putting linens on my bed at night, I spray it again, let it sit for a few minutes and wipe with paper towels. I do not get the embedded ones in my painters plastic but I did with the testured zippered covers. Hopefully this might be helpful in your endeavors......Frito

I cover the mattress and box springs individually with plastic

zippered covers and tape the zippers with lint roller sheets or

whatever wide tape I have handy that will allow a good seal. Then I

put the textured allergy cover over the mattress and box springs.

I have a file that explains what I'm doing today (guaranteed to be

different a week from now, but what I've written has gotten me by for

a while). It's a text file, under 20kb, but too long for here:

Fannouj: You can buy a twin size air mattress at Walmart, in the camping Section. I say twin size, because it's easier to move around and clean. I just put it in the bathtub and spray it with the hand held sprayer, front and back. it cost $10. The brand name is Ozark. I found that the regular mattresses, even though I covered them in a vinyl zippered cover (2 on the mattress and 2 on the box springs), they just didn't work that well.

My boyfriend already buy smething before you all ansered me today, he was left already to buy, i posted what it is, can u tell me your opinion. I wanted to try and clarify with you that you don't sleep IN it, you put your matress and box spring in those covers. Sheets over that and sleep ON it. Completely seal the zippers with tape. You can always go back at another time and get the smooth painters plastic and wrap over the ones you purchased today. They should be fine for now.
