No, I am just sorry that you even have to go through this.

I don't know what you mean by menthol and oils specifically.

I don't know if your house has them. But it may be possible.

And you are so very welcome. Keep us informed on your situation. Lots of good people here that will help you.

Spray your bed several times per day. Change sheets daily. Spray the computer, computer stand, seat and the floor around the computer every night and the next day before you use it. Burn menthol crystals if it does not affect you negatively. I also bought portable ultrasonic cool mist humidifer to mist MMS today from Walmart (very small) for small rooms, hotel and office $13. I have that on one side of the computer and the crystals on the other side of the table. No bites right now. Bought that today because I was getting bit often. Thanks you Willow for sharing that. I will use the portable humidifer at bedside tonight. I hope things get better for you real soon.

Hi....I have started using Listerine again religiously. This was popular on this

board about a year ago. I have small spray bottle that I spray my body and rub

in my skin really well....try it on your face first to see if you notice a

difference. There was a guy name Ray that got out of this mess by using

Listerine continuously. You can do a search to try to find those posts....it is

not overnight improvement, it takes a couple days to see some results. Good

thing is that its cheap. Try drinking Tsp baking soda and Apple cider

vinegar....this works!

Me too Gator... All I do all day it seems is try to treat this condition. I'm getting reports that Cedarcide is a knock down, but does not kill all of the mites. It is very expensive and you literally have to spray the stuff every day. It doesn't work that well. Some people find it good for knocking them back, but not complete elimination.

There has got to be more to life. I'm sorry you are in the same situation.

I started using it too a day ago, wiping my legs and feet down--you would be amazed at home many of these things you get off on paper towels with Listerine. I understand they are changing their formula for it. Won't be as strong. My legs feel some better, but I still got a big couple of bites watching Glee!

g.,

Try using Vick's Vapo Rub in the nose. Generic vapo rubs work well too. It'a

little messy, but quells the bugs.

Btw- if you get them in your eyes, the best thing I've found is medicinal

grade boric acid, mixed with water.

Both of these remedies I received last year on this very site.

Thanks Lynn,

I am seriously MCS>EI>TILT from a chemical injury. I joined a chemical injury

group today. I also found a protocol by Pall and plan to try that soon.

Maybe I will learn something there. So, chemicals are off limits to me.They

didn't help anyway.

The mites came about 10 years ago and I have lived in %#@^ since. Gosh, I have

used DSP, ECOVIE, vinegar, SHOCK for swimming pools,. It helped, but couldn't

stand the smell. I have ruined all the furniture, cabinets and baseboards in my

house.I cut up the carpet and through it out.

I have used salt, menthol crystals, essential oils, done soak baths in Borax,

Epson salts, had the house and yard sprayed and bombed several times. Almost

killed me. Used sulphur cream, burned tea lights, couldn't use them, lots of

kleen free enzymes and a host of other stuff. I am at my wits end.

Listerine as a toxic pesticide?? You sure about that? It has a high alcohol

content, menthol and thymol. It's very safe. People that have used it in their

protocols have, gotten over this for good.

Try mixing ACV with it...50/50 ratio. That gives it a punch! I love ACV

now.....mites hate it! I actually spray that mix around my bed at night when I

feel some crawling....it holds them back for a little while.

I'm going to try that tonight tessi. 50/50 ACV (apple cider vinegar) and (Listerine). Sounds like a good spray for sheets too. I now bath/shower/wash hair only at night when these are most active, no more showering during the day when the beasts are not active. I don't shower twice a day, as it is too hard on my skin. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gator, I know you have used many things for the mites... sometimes we just have to start over trying more things - and having MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity--Environmental Illness) makes it more of a challenge. I am so happy that you joined a chemical injury group too. That can help quite a bit and just to be connected to a community of people who have similar problems is very helpful. Support is so good when you have a life threatening issue such as that. We may all have some chemical injury that is not totally apparent too.

I know using the EFT helps so I'll do some of that today too.

The acv is part of the antifungal protocol used by those suffering with

Candidiasis.

There is a definite connection between Morg/Lyme and fungas. Most of the people

posting on this board receive strong increases of " symptoms " after eating

sweets/sugary foods.

Just wish our bittersweet alternative Stevia didn't cost so much ($14 for a

small bottle at the local Co-op).

And Ph balance is vital in achieving good health (this is true for everyone).

Cerph Without a doubt there is a fungal connection, I think. That is why

the organic sulfur is so important, not unlike poor soil. I think because of the

way our food is grown stored and processed the natural occurring sulfur is gone.

Sulfur being the 2nd element of the human body.

The Importance of Sulfur

http://www.becomehealthynow.com/article/minerals/586

The Sulfur Solution

Sulfur is unquestionably an essential nutrient. So why doesn't anyone consider

it that?

Imagine a nutrient more important to health than magnesium, zinc, iron, copper,

sodium, iodine-and, for that matter, many vitamins. Assume that it has

incredibly diverse roles, boosting resistance to disease, helping regulate blood

sugar, preventing aches and pains, and even holding your skin and organs

together.

It's a nutrient so essential for life that you would die without it. But get

this: it has been all but ignored by dietitians, physicians, and researchers.

The nutrient is sulfur, a yellow mineral referred to as brimstone in the Bible

and used medicinally for thousands of years.

Flip through most nutrition textbooks, and you'll discover that sulfur is hardly

ever mentioned, despite it being the third most abundant mineral (after calcium

and phosphorus) in the body, accounting for 1 percent of your weight.

" Yes, sulfur is essential, " says Ekhard E. Ziegler, M.D., of the University of

Iowa School of Medicine, Iowa City, and coeditor of the authoritative Present

Knowledge in Nutrition (ILSI Press, 1996). " But no, it's not essential beyond it

being in methionine and cysteine. You get enough sulfur from amino acids. "

Mel Werbach, M.D., author of the Textbook of Nutritional Medicine (Third Line

Press, 1999), sees sulfur as a blind spot in nutrition and medicine. " The value

of sulfur supplementation has been poorly investigated, " he observes, " even

though sulfur baths and injections are old-fashioned arthritis treatments which

are still popular in many countries. "

Found In Every Living Cell

The dearth of research on nutritional sulfur is puzzling. Because it is an

element, the body cannot make it and, instead, must obtain sulfur from food.

" Here is an essential nutrient that no one sees as being that, " says M.

Lawrence, M.D., Ph.D., coauthor of The Miracle of MSM: The Natural Solution for

Pain (G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1999). " We don't learn anything about sulfur in

medical school. Sulfur has been the most understudied and overlooked nutrient. "

Sulfur is found in every living cell. It's part of the molecules that form the

amino acids (protein building blocks) methionine, cysteine, and taurine, which

are essential for health. It's a constituent of vitamin B1 and biotin, the

antioxidant glutathione, the anticoagulant heparin, and coenzyme A, which drives

energy production in cells. Sulfur is an integral part of the biological cement

that forms skin, hair, nails, and the cartilage that shapes your nose and pads

your joints.

Yet, says Lawrence, there is no officially recognized " sulfur-deficiency

syndrome. " That's a problem other nutrients, such as vitamin E and selenium, had

to suffer with for years-before they were recognized as essential for health, he

adds.

Long Used As A Medicine

The medicinal use of sulfur goes back thousands of years to the Trojan Wars,

when wounded solders healed in the sulfur Baths of Agamemnon. Sulfur baths are

still popular for treating joint and other diseases around the world. Similarly,

sulfur-rich garlic has been used for several millennia to prevent and treat

diseases. It contains powerful antibacterial substances, which may explain the

garlic's extensive use as a folk medicine.

Sulfur is also a common ingredient in homeopathic remedies, developed in the

19th century and still popular today as over-the-counter remedies. In the 1920s,

" colloidal sulfur " was used to treat arthritics. Now, researchers understand

that sulfur forms part of the matrix of bone joints in the form of chondroitin

sulfate and glucosamine sulfate.

Before the advent of antibiotics in the 1940s, sulfur-containing drugs-sulfa

drugs-were commonly used to treat infectious diseases. Sulfur has powerful

antibacterial properties. Many of sulfa drugs are still prescribed by

physicians, and sulfur is a component of penicillin-class antibiotics and many

other medicines.

Sulfur-Containing Supplements

Do you get enough sulfur from the diet you eat? Many dietitians will say that

people obtain adequate sulfur as long as they eat methionine-rich meat. But

other foods also provide large amounts of sulfur, including egg yolks, broccoli,

cauliflower, kale, Brussel sprouts, watercress, radish, leek, onion, and of

course garlic. Unfortunately, many people dislike these foods or, as in the case

of eggs, avoid them. If so you should take a look and cosider taking the

supplements below.

Some of the most popular-and beneficial-dietary supplements on the market are

rich sources of sulfur. A diverse group of sulfur-containing molecules in the

diet provides a biochemical " toolbox " that the body can draw on. Indeed,

Lawrence says research has demonstrated that supplemental sulfur is incorporated

into amino acids.

Sulfur is also a critical mineral needed in the dotoxification process. Read

more about detoxification here.

These Are Some Of The Most Popular Sulfur-Containing Supplements:

Glucosamine Synergy™ - Glucosamine Synergy™ contains sulfate. Both help form

tissue, particularly pads cushion joints. Thin or absent joint cartilage results

osteoarthritis, which bones grind against other. Medical studies support both

supplements. an analysis 13 studies, Case Western University School Medicine

reported supplements each resulted 40 improvement in symptoms. Some research has

also sulfate works better than analgesic drugs at relieving pain. In recent U.S.

Navy study, researchers found that a combination of chondroitin glucosamine

sulfate, vitamin C reduced osteoarthritic symptoms by 26 to 43 percent

(depending on the specific symptom). Dosage: glucosamine, 1,500 mg, and

chondroitin, 1,200 mg daily.< P>

Garlic - Sitting on the shelf, garlic has little biological activity. But dicing

and cooking it triggers a cascade of chemical reactions (starting with

oxidation), that lead to more than 100 sulfur-rich chemical compounds, including

some sulfur-containing amino acids. Garlic boosts antioxidant levels in the

body, and virtually every form of the food has some health benefits. Studies

have found that garlic supplements can lower cholesterol levels in people.

Milner, Ph.D., of Pennsylvania State University, University Park, and other

researchers have reported that garlic can block the action of cancer-causing

compounds and, in laboratory animals, delay the growth of some cancers. Dosage:

1-2 Capsules per day or as directed by your physician.

would be.  I have a humidifier now on my c-pap machine and I want to add

drops to the water to keep mold down and mites.  Any

suggestions?  I just started using the humidifier and the mites were

very active on my face the first couple of days.  Nose tickles inside

off and on.

  • 10 months later...

I have had bird mites for about a year, but only known about it for 3 months,

this has been a living hell, had to leave my apt, and everything i owned. I

have been sleeping drenched in olive oil evry night for months, scared not to.

Was off work for 2 months, have went back to work but still not completely

clear, was about homeless. Spent well over $3000 and still have these mites. I

guess i will just have to learn to live with it, seems endless, no life at all.

Cant see my kids or grandkids, sux. I got a new apt and i see a few around and

wipe them up and put in ziplock baggies cuz i am paranoid of black specks. I

pray to god every day to get rid of them. I feel sorry for me and all of you

going through this horrible bug thing. I think there is a epidemic coming and

nobody is listening to us. I have called all sorts of people and nobody cares.

Will post more later, god bless all of you.

i feel the same. if the doc's and vet's don't know about it they believe it's

not true. ignorance to it's fullest. if something doesn't get done about this

soon it will be an epidemic. we can go into space but we can't kill a freaking

tiny ass blood sucking spec.

Ho Masilyn

spaying epsom salts 1 cup per 3 cups of water on surfaces dries on the bug &

locks it down in a glaze , it was a huf changing point back when I could not

kill them. Even a penny on a wood floor gets stuck & can't be kicked loose with

a cowboy boot , works on the body too ,same mix & leabe it on the dry. Epsom

deters bugs. I add 1 cup borax too , but the epsom is what stopped them well ,

then wash w/ Arm & Hammer Powdered Laundry Detergent 1 cup per gallon & let

that sta on survace for a while , also good for soaks 1 cup per bath , it is

painless

God bless you Marilyn,

Bill

ps baking soda arrests all movement of a swarm if poofed from cieling down &

left to alkanize the environment , I do it weekly & it is amazing & instant ,

ace has Chapin brand dusters that work well $12.99 I still pick up bugs from

the park docks , etc. so..... It is a battle

'Nuke 'them , borax epsom , Arm & Hammer Powdered Laundry Detergent , pine sol

, cvs brand ant traps in each room , borax powder all over , paint walls &

cielings & seal flloors , caulk cracks, use a leave blower to blow he borax

into the air ducts , tri-jet fogger $200.00 from www.cedarcide .org , use 1 cup

borax 1 cup windex & 1 cup epsom in it , its cheap & kills , do eeach room every

2 days for 1 month , it stops them , burn methol crystals 1 teasp per room in

coffe warmer or tea candle scent difuser , it makes all of them come out, the

smell is to strong, then fog them & powder the house with borax , it works , it

is a bug kill it , it will die.

http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/dog_mange_cure.html

The mix:

2 tblspns borax (20 mule team Borax laundry booster
