Dear K & D,

I am very glad to make your acquaintance. I appreciate your greeting. Even today I see that I've lost mail that was here last night. That is because I can't seem to keep up. That is why I will not be getting Dummies delivered but will only visit the home site when I can. It's the energy problem with me. My prayers go out to you. Both of you have a challenging situation there. I hope something comes along that gives success. As you may recall from my introduction, I've gone through three rounds (years) of treatment and am continuing with INF at present.

Much love,

Tim

Deb, I am so glad to be one of the lucky ones who've only had problems with the specialists. My family doc - I think you guys call them pcp - has studied up on HCV & I'm not her only HCV patient so she understands what's going on & does her best to get my specialists to follow her example. My major problem is living in a small city. There are only two G Is in town & one Infectious diseases doc who treats most of the HCV and HIV patients here. They're all busier than a one armed paper hanger. The Infectious Diseases guy sees about everybody he can but the G I s are overwhelmed with patients & it can take a long time to get to see them. I have an appointment for Nov 12th but hope to speed it up some. I've been feeling lousy the past few weeks but am feeling some better now. Unfortunately my latest tests show my ammonia over 100 & my AFP equally high. Both my regular doc & the Ifectious Diseases guy are a little worrried about cancer so they're sending me for yet another ultrasound. I'm not worrying, the last 3 or 4 times everything was fine. Hugs, SuZie & Sir SpYke the Not-So-Smelly (he's not getting near that skunk again, I promise)Deb <posttransplant@...> wrote: Buddy you are experiencing 1 of the many disadvantages of having HCV trying to find qualified medical care and tx by qualified accreted board-certified Dr's and medical professionals in the field of HCV and liver diseases. Even GI's and their practice's are overwhelmed by the amount overload of HCV pt's in their practices and the great time and difficulty of such a complex medical pt to see and tx. GI's gastroenterologists treat disorders of the stomach - intestines and associated organs including the liver. GI's with more training and medically board-certified to tx HCV and associated liver diseases complications from it has earned another medical degree and are also Hepatologists. Unfortunately HCV is only still glanced over in medical schools like many many other diseases taught more in the GI field with a great shortage of GI's and Hepatologist's to go around to treat pt's of the HCV Epidemic. The care and tx of HCV pt's is recommended by qualified Dr's GI's - Hepatologists in

their fields and especially if a pt is put on very powerful and dangerous tx meds with many sides and complications with care - tx and follow-up of a complex HCV pt to tx. It infuriates me to no end the malice taken by some but not many treating physician's of their HCV pt's without even taking the time to even go online for further medial training and very easy and very available CME's or other forms of continuing medical education trainings. I know we have many medical professionals as members and using the word "malice" will get me in deep but it's the truth experienced by myself and many others and the great need for better medical care - tx - research and research

grants and $'s for all of us. I may as well go all the way in and be DSD again. A very very old joke. What do you call the Medical Dr that graduated last in his class after many many failed attempts and additional years of training needed - An

MD........ We just hope and pray for the best. Love and Hugs. Deb Yep WWD I still hate 's punctuations and just hope for the best with spell check :)

Next time I'm coming back as a cat

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your post regarding the clothes. You bring up a good

point about mothballs. I have many of my good (dressy)clothes stored

in closed heavy plastic hanging suit bags with moth balls in each

bag. In your opinion, do you think that is effective enough or

should they be sealed in plastic box totes with lids or are the

mothball fumes enough to kill the eggs and all in the suit bags?

Thanks so much (and thanks for this site for all of us!)
