Welcome to all the new posters. My heart

and prayers go out for all of you, especially the lady new to Pennsylvania.

Girl, you sound like a powerhouse, and I

know you will get this behind you soon!

Here are some suggestions about what

worked for us.

1) CO2 for the cars works great. After buying the canister it is only

12 dollars to refill it each time. Also, you can get a tube and use it to put the

CO2 into big trash bags to get books, appliances, papers, and other items

treated. One canister lasts forever that way. (It helps to have a man around to

carry the 20 pounder.)

2) I have been having particular success with Dr. Bonner’s

peppermint soap diluted in a spray bottle. It works at least as well as Windex

in my kitchen, bathroom, car, etc. It must kill them on contact. I also have

been using it in my hair and shower. It is so cheap! I loved Cedarcide, too,

but became too expensive.

3) Trulyblest’s lice comb treatment has pulled out tons of nits

from my scalp. I also love her suggestion to stay mad. Once I get in touch with

all I have lost, boom, then I can stay angry and focused!

4) Vacuuming with a black light is enlightening, although I truly feel

crazy when I am doing it. Anyway, they seem to like the windowsills and

baseboards, and where the air vents blow.

Rita, do

you still see the glowing spots and worms with the blacklight, even though you

no longer have the mites?

5) Painting the ceiling worked for a bit. Now, I see the wormy things

in the paint that don’t wash off or wipe off. I am hoping a second coat

of glossy paint will help.

Has

painting the ceilings ever made a situation worse?

It is tough fighting something invisible.

I cannot tell if I am making progress except by the amount of biting I am

experiencing. And I am having many more periods of no biting and feeling

normal, so the situation is definitely improving,

For the person who asked if there is an

advantage to killing them sooner, I say Yes, pick a treatment (vacuum, spray,

Cedarcide) and retain control of your home.

After they had overrun my last apartment

(which had several sources) there was nothing I could do but move. The biting

was non-stop.

Hope this helps someone,

P~
