Haha iggy. Everyone just under lots of stress and on the edge lately. We

all just need to focus our attention on getting our lives back and not

get too consumed into the negativity of this. You all want my story here

it goes:

Hi im Adam. I am 28 years old living in los angeles, at 20 years on

memorial weekend 2 months before my 21st birthday I wento the hospital

near death with 3 hemaglobins basically near death. The dr. On ward came

in and told me I had cancer of the blood and the oncologist of the

hospital wasn't on board to tell me what type because it was memorial

weekend. He told me basically all there going to do is put me on blood

transfusions and try to keep me alive over the weekend in icu and I

signed my legal right in tears too my mother standing next to me. From

that day my whole life changed! I survived the weekend and the

oncologist came and told me I had an acute form of luekemia called

(A.L.L) acute lymphatic leukemia and he was basically going to hit my

body with strong chemo so I can get in remission and see if I was able

to receive a bone marrow transplant at city of hope medical center. It

was a hard long process dealing with all the lumbar puncture (spinal

taps) blood trans fusions and chemo. It was the worst thing I could ever

imagine happen to a human being. I soon recouped and I had an interview

at city of hope medical center with a hematology oncologist to see if I

was able to have a bone marrow transplant. My 2 brother and sisters got

tested and the only one out the group that was a clear match was my

older brother andrew. They told me he was a match and I was capable of

receiving his stem cells for a BMT. I sat on it for a couple of weeks

and decided to give it a shot in the dark, hey what I got to lose im

young and I wanted to try for another 20 or so years at life or stay

home in remission and worry all day if leukemia was ever going to come

back.

So I had 1 week of full body radiation and 2 days of chemo to kill off

all the old cells in my body and have the stem cells from my older

brother graph in my body and make new cells which will be like a human

oil change in laymans terms. It was a hard and grueling deal during this

time of incubation period, when this process happens were prone to die

of in fections during the graphing of stem cells because we have no

immunities to fight anything. I had to be confined to a room in bed with

people touching me with gloves and masked faces for 4 months not to

mention I developed mucunitis which is when your mucus glands in your

body shut down from the full body radiation and you basicals don't creat

saliva and your throat and mouth turns to a big blister. I had the

suction tube to suck out blood and parts of my throat and mouth and had

to wash and gargle with biotene non alcoholic mouthwash for montha nd be

fed lipids (fats) through my stomach to eat. I didn't speak a word for 3

months till my mouth healed, it was definitely a time in my life that

was in silence and pain. But a part of my life that made me realize how

beautiful and precious it was and I didn't want to give up for nothing.

So after 6 months of living at city of hope medical research center

at the BMT unit I was free to go home but with a mask! I remember it was

during those anthrax scares and people were getting sick and when I was

at the pharmacy people would walk out thinking I was sick from that

stuff haha. So horrible!

So I got better and wanted to persue my dream which was to be a chef, I

told my dr. And she said ' your crazy you've only been out the hosptial

for 1 year and you're going to be around knives and all that heavy

lifting and heat. You haven't even got your first tetanus shot!' I said

I have a dream and a plan and nothing can stop it, I soon went to

culinary school and loved every second of it. I was the fastest and most

inquisitive student there, chefs saw this spark in my eye, and its

called determination! I was determined to live and work toward my goal

and become a chef, after school I worked with wolfgang puck industires

at the avalon above the rennasance hotel on hollywood and highland

catering events for the emmys, oscars, and grammys. I even did the

universal studios food and wine festival and got to work along side

marcus samelson of aquavit restaurant in nyc. Said he loved me and if I

was ever in nyc and needed a job look him up, which was amazing.

Well I quit wolfgang and jumped into this new restaurant endeavor with

a couple of culinary school buddies. I figured if I helped open up a

restaurant with some friends it would be fun and what the hay we could

make a name for ourselves. A couple of months in I started to notice I

was getting muscle spasms. I wasn't performing as I use too, my hands

would cramp up and id drop things and sometimes id raid the first aid

cabinets for ibuprofrin. So after this grueling ordeal I stopped saw my

dr and they told me I have neuropathy which is nerve damage caused by

radiation and had me on nuerontin and prednisone which is a medical

steroid. I was sick at home for awhile taking some college courses at

the local community college trying to take a step in a different

direction instead of cooking which I couldn't do. So my ex was rubbing

my back one day in 06' and discovered a lump. She pressed down on it and

it hurt like a bruise, so I didn't think much of it saw the

dermatologist at city of hope and he was like hmmm we better get a punch

of this and have it analized, I thought it was a cyst. Week later he

calls me says its a tumor and he scheduled me to se the surgical

oncologist. Its called a dermafibrociouseracome hope I spelled that

right. They don't know how I got it, it could of been from the

cyclosporin usage for so long. So I was scheduled for surgery on oct

13th 06' friday, yea friday the 13th what a great day! Well actually it

ended up being because the procedure was a cut dry one and doc said was

nothing too it, he just had to remove a goofball size of tissue out my

back and no skin graphing! So I had seriously fishing string type

stitches in my back with my arm in a sling having to lay on my side for

3 months and to top it all off my gf dumped me, said she was too

stressed at work and all I did was make her extra stressed with my own

problems, how selfish is that? So I healed nice got myself to go back

to school and was noticing while I was driving the sun was bothering my

eyes more than normal. This was feb 2007, so I made an appointment with

the eye doctor, well guess what mr. the dr. Says 'you have

cataracts' which was either due from radiation or excessive usage of

medical steriods when you had leukemia. He cancled my drivers license

said I was legally blind with cataracts.

So now I was at home with my vission deteriating, I was very depressed

I stood looking up at the ceiling and asking god why? How come I try so

hard and you always pull me back off track... why? Those questions

always were the same broken record verse that played every night. So I

turned to a hermit in my room and I had this first feeling of something

crawling on my face, I thought it was nothing at first. Then there it

was again, I ran to the mirror and with my milky faded vsion I tried to

see what it was, still nothing there. Then again it was, now it was all

on my legs, at first I thought it was ants and I wasn't being able to

see them because of the low vision due to cataracts. I told my family

and they quickly scanned my room and my skina nd told me to be quite

that im being crazy and I should get out my room more! So I said wait a

min. This isn't something normal I felts them in my nose eyes and ears

and private areas, so I saw a dermatologist at UCLA and he looked over

my body with the naked eye and stood back with his folded arms asked me

have I ever seen a psychiatrist latley. I said no, and told me I might

have dop. I went to see a shrink at city of hope he pretty much told me

there's nothing wrong with me and that as a person loses one of there

senses the others grow stronger like touch and smell hearing ect. And

that this can be just dust and maybe I should see an allergenist, he

toss me some anxiety meds a shooed me out the door. I called UCLA made

an appointment with an allergenist and she tested me for 180 allergies

and all of the results came back negative. I wasn't allergic to nothing!

So I switched my dermatologist to one at city of hope and the same lool

on his face like the ucla dr. He gave me doxycycline and permithrin and

sent me on my way. They didn't do jack, I had such itching after and

felt them coming out my eyes and nostrils, and saw people sneezing and

itching when I was around them. I knew it was real because I know my

body more than anyone and know something was wrong, that these feelings

weren't normal and no drs wanted to take the time to do skin graph

samples or look deeping into what I got, instead they all had that 8foot

away arms crossed and cold stare. So here I am at home with this new

affliction of bugs crawling everywhere that I can't see and neither my

family can't yet they scratch and sneeze around me all the time living

around me oblivious to what is around or on me. So I seeked out for

myself anf found you guys here. That's my story. I'll write more later.

Family is playing cards and watching movies.

1. MODERATING A GROUP. Settings and content aside, moderating an

online group day in and day out is a tremendous amount of work, and

it is work that must be done regularly, whether the person feels like

doing it or not.

2. JOINING IS OPTIONAL. The second thing is also aside from settings

and content and has to do with the members. Those who want to join do

so, and vice versa. No one has to do anything.

3. PURPOSE OF BOinfoStg. Willow clearly stated her purpose, settings,

and rationale, and invited those interested to join. Perceptions are

unique to the individual perceiving them. My perception is that

Willow performed and continues to perform an unselfish act in

moderating BOinfoStg. I cannot speak to anyone else's perceptions.

4. MY PERSONAL CONCLUSION--APPLICABLE ONLY TO ME. I think " Thank you "

to both moderators about covers it. If it weren't for BOTH groups I

am not sure I would be here this week.

Love,

KJ

Damn Dude!

You are the poster child for headstrong determination! You really have

my admiration for keeping you sense of humor through all you have been

through! Question: Do you only have the crawling....no bites or sores?

It's possible what you have is not bugs, but fungal infection....that

will also cause people around you to Sneeze and itch around you.

With all of the antibiotics you have taken in your trials this could

be a real possibility for you.

I second that notion.

Adam is amazing and I most appreciate his coming out and sharing with us. It put it all in perspective.

Adam, I am one of those hemapheresis practitioner RN's collecting those precious stem cells at UCLA and later at STanford...I am an ex LA resident...and know exactly what you are talking about.............City of HOPE is quite familiar to me as well.

Now, for the sneezing etc..the people in proximity reacting, happens to me as well....does that mean I am in fungi overload vs. those critters I am SEEING in abundance around me, ariborne, land borne , targeting my body ,is a figment of my imagination ?>

Oh, God Adam...your story is gut wrenching! You are TOO YOUNG to

have suffered so much (as though there is any age that it would be

OK)...and now this nightmare to try to deal with! Are you back with

your family, or trying to cope alone? Are you a candidate for

cataract surgery?

Thank you for sharing with us...I was having a healthy dose of " why

me? " and self pity, but I need to be more grateful.

God Bless you, Adam, and I pray from the bottom of my soul that

relief and comfort comes to you and all of us!

Marguerite,

So you are saying that the bugs you have are flying and they are big

enough you can see them?? That does not sound like mites to me, a

adult mite is the size of this " . " period. When you are around

people these critters are coming off you and gettinng on them??

Do you think they are coming off the surface of your body, or inside

you?

Thank you, I look at all my hardships as a blessing to everyone I

encounter, im greatfull to learn to appreciate life at an early age.

Misfortunes help us to have compassion, without compassion there's no

love in this world! God has my path harder than most but I have my faith

in his choice for me, sometimes I get side tracked at time but im only

human. That's when my faith kicks in and goes into over drive. Some of

us need to rethink are situations and find the true beauty of living

than just existing in life, god showed me that with pain and hardship.

But I've seen it as a self purification persay, pain is a gift from god.

Its a warning signal before death. Some of us aren't dead but live as we

are, if you have a campfire and you touch it, will it kill you? No. But

if you jumped in it, yes. That's the true essence of being mortal and

having free will. Yes were all experiencing pain in outlives, but its a

sign of trouble ahead. Something were doing wrong as living ect. We were

saved by the fire, we all need to look in ourselves and change what went

wrong in our ways of living. Trust in him and he'll guide you to the

light at the end of the tunnel. Believe me. I've had leukemia, a tumor,

blindness, and now this. I beat everything with my own freewill and

faith. This is nothing I can't handle because. I haven't yet had my

cataract surgery because I constantly rud my eyes and after surgery they

say that you're prone to get inflammation or infection which can make it

worst. I don't want to ruin my sight completely till I overcome this

itching crawling and biting! Its tormenting at times but I know I'll

overcome this and my blindness!

I know your kind, i<e seen many people that work in your field. Very

intelligent and helpful. More caring and understanding than my

egotistical hema dr. I can't see these bugs but I do see the shadows of

worms in my eyesight and I know that if you have bugs you get worms and

if you got worms you got bugs. They go in pairs. Well speaking from

internally. I think I caught something from being on

immunal-suppressants for 7 years. I was prone to get any infection. I

was on cyclosporin and cellcept for 7 years, I do also believe that's

how I got the tumor as well.

Thank you bessie for your kind words, I keep all of you in my daily

thoughts and prayers. Even though I may not know you all personally. I

do know how hard this affliction is and what it can do to the human will

power. So I pray that you all have the strength and determination to

overcome this!

I was gone for a few days and was surprised to see how crazy and out

of hand the situation got with this site. I just want to say that I

hope we can find a way to resolve this. It was a wonderful idea to

set up an additional storage of information. I find it hard to keep

up with all of the suggestions we receive and which are the people it

is woring for. It is also very difficult to take the time to

constantly inquire on previous posts. It takes a lot of WORK from

experience to set up a database of this magnitute and we need to be a

little more understanding on either side as we are under so much

stress from these darn mites. It's been wonderful getting too know

all of you and it would be horrible shame to lose anyone of you that

have contributed so much.

I also wanted to share what happened to me recently. I had seen an

occasional roach now and then pop where I live and I have no idea

what I despise more mites or roaches. I was going away for a long

weekend and decided to put a few roach bombs and kill the buggers.

During this time, I ASSUMED I had the mites under control. I barely

felt anything and when I did I assumed they were stragglers and

continued my protocol of cleaning. Well, was I in for a surprise.

On the return of my trip my family and I were eaten alive by the

mites. They are EVERYWHERE, the bites, the crawling, the rashes the

itchiness - all of it has returned FULL FORCE. All along they must

have been just hiding in the walls or cracks. I imagined that when I

set off the roach foggers they just all decided to come out. I am so

miserable we are back to square one and I feel I can no longer live

Im sorry to hear what happened blanca, these things are a pain. Just

keep your head up and dust yourself off. Trial and error is the key to

this, and remember everyone has a different approach to keeping these

buggers out of our house and bodies. Keep trying and don't give up.

I was in the bone marrow transplant unit and was getting really

restless with cabin fever. What made it worst was there was a patient on

the ward I made friends with had the same type of leukemia that I had

and got his stem cells the same day as me and went home. Yea of course I

was happy for him but soon got discouraged and was upset that I wasn't

able to go home. The doctor came to see me the next day noticed I was

upset and asked me what was wrong, I said '' why does marvin get to go

home and I don't? We both have the same desease and got are bmt's the

someday!' and she said ''Adam I deal with many cases of your type of

leukemia everyday and no two cases are the same, everyone reacts to

everything differently' so I always remembered that and take it in

account with everything in life. We all have a great group here were we

share different protocols and technique but we all need to remember were

all have different living situations and health. I hope this makes

sense.. Sorry for the new situation blanca. I'll keep you and the family

in my prayers.

I was gone for a few days and was surprised to see how crazy and out of hand the situation got with this site. I just want to say that I hope we can find a way to resolve this. It was a wonderful idea to set up an additional storage of information. I find it hard to keep up with all of the suggestions we receive and which are the people it is woring for. It is also very difficult to take the time to constantly inquire on previous posts. It takes a lot of WORK from experience to set up a database of this magnitute and we need to be a little more understanding on either side as we are under so much stress from these darn mites. It's been wonderful getting too know all of you and it would be horrible shame to lose anyone of you that have contributed so much.I also wanted to share what happened to me recently. I had seen an occasional roach now and then pop where I live and I have no idea what

I despise more mites or roaches. I was going away for a long weekend and decided to put a few roach bombs and kill the buggers. During this time, I ASSUMED I had the mites under control. I barely felt anything and when I did I assumed they were stragglers and continued my protocol of cleaning. Well, was I in for a surprise. On the return of my trip my family and I were eaten alive by the mites. They are EVERYWHERE, the bites, the crawling, the rashes the itchiness - all of it has returned FULL FORCE. All along they must have been just hiding in the walls or cracks. I imagined that when I set off the roach foggers they just all decided to come out. I am so miserable we are back to square one and I feel I can no longer live like this. That is when I read posts from Beth Anne who lost her son and is batteling these or Kimble and Adam that recently joined and I hear there stories and gives me the

ivanbla,

Go to this website, you will find all kinds of things for roaches,

but be sure to check out s I.G Regulator and Gentrol I. G

Aerosol. This is " birth control " for both mites and roaches.

It will not kill off the adults, but all the offspring will not be

able to breed and will die out. The Gentrol Aerosol is good because

it can get into the cracks. This will really help cut down your mite

population. Website : www.cooperseeds.com/roaches.php3?cartid=
