Stovetop Remedy - 4-Herb Tea

Before the mites arrived, I went looking for an internal parasite

cleanser. (In retrospect, I can see they were already well on their

way & I didn't know it.) I'd been through 2 weeks of irritable bowel,

going a dozen times a day without having diarrhea and worn out.

Couldn't figure out what was up. My husband suggested it might be

parasites...

Found Herbal Healer Academy, whose motto is " Healing the World with

Nature, one person at a time " . The woman behind it is Marijah McCain,

a highly accredited naturopath with a background in microbiology &

parasites. Decided to order her 4-Herb tea, Step One of her basic

detox & rebuild program. Parasite detox is Step Three & each step

lasts a month.

This is an organic, generic version of Essiac, an American Indian

herbal remedy of which I'd never heard. Composed of Burdock Root,

Sheep Sorrel, Slippery Elm & Turkey Rhubarb herbs in the correct

proportions, it's literally a tea you brew on your stovetop, bottle &

refrigerate. Checking the four ingredients, I found between them

they're reputed to detox the liver, kidneys & skin, purify the blood,

boost immune response, clear congestion in respiratory, lymphatic, &

circulatory systems, soothe & strengthen the organs, tissues &

mucous membranes, shrink tumors and promote healing of ulcers &

wounds. As if that weren't enough, they're loaded with vitamins &

minerals and known for their antimicrobial & antifungal effects.

This sounded like a winner.

Got a package of the bulk herbs, which makes 2 gallons of tea, for

$22 & 8 to ship for a total of $30. The cost goes down if you order

more (3 for $18/6 for $16 each). In an email newsletter special, the

price was $13 each for any amount, so bought the maximum allowed of

10. Added a set of 6 brown bottles to keep it in for another $27. One

gallon is a full month's supply taking the recommended 2 ounces 2

times a day. Usage can go up to 4 times a day for serious conditions.

The herbal residue left from the tea can be used as a poultice.

Ordered the 4-H Tea on Monday & it arrived on Thursday, July 31 - the

first day of my mite attack. How's that for timing? Head, face,

neck, shoulders & upper back pinpricked simultaneously with intense

pain & itch. Did my Orange Plus bath routine immediately followed by

the Buzz Off & was clear. I'd dealt with mites I'd picked up outside

before. But this was different - I hadn't been outside - inside with

a sprained ankle.

Brewed up the tea & took the 2 doses Aug 2. Need to drink at least 2

extra glasses of water daily while taking the tea. One dose is 2

ounces of the refrigerated tea with 2 ounces of hot water. Found a

shotglass that holds 2 ounces makes it easy to measure. Taken on an

empty stomach 10-20 minutes before a meal. Tastes nice. When no

allergic reaction occurred from the morning dose, went ahead with the

before supper dose. No problems with either.

My symptoms at the time were:

Gnat-type bites (no itch) on one ankle from the month before that

wouldn't heal & now formed a thick, irregular, continuous yellow &

red scab. An unusual, large bullseye blister bite to the side of that

ankle (spider? tick?) at the same time had taken a month to heal &

left a scar.

A single " chigger " blister bite behind each knee had healed. Now the

front of both knees covered in thick, crusty yellow scabs. I thought

these were psorasis outbreaks, since I'd had that there briefly in

the past.

Notably, I'd found a single blue thread sticking out of one blister &

a red one from the other. Pulled out easily & then both blisters

healed.

Irritable bowel with output unrelated to input but without diarrhea.

A definite body attempt to purge.

A sudden onset deep cough with copious foamy phlegm that was

worsening rapidly.

Nasal congestion with thick mucous & periodic sneezing.

Extremely bloodshot eyes with no itch or grit.

Sporadic deep toothache getting worse. Pain moved from one tooth to

another, top & bottom. A " roaming " toothache.

A fatty tumor on my shoulder I'd had for years after an injury began

enlarging rapidly & was hot to the touch.

Continuous low-grade fever & swollen neck glands.

Periodic brain fog, increasing clumsiness & irritability and a deep

sense that everything (not just myself) was seriously out of balance.

The second day of using the tea, the cough & sneezing improved. By

the fifth day the sneezing ended, the congestion was much better &

the cough, too. No more bowel problems. Upped the dosage to 4 times

a day & poulticed my ankle scab that night.

When I removed the poultice next morning the scab had turned soft &

white on the top 1/4 " layer & I was able to roll it off like dough.

The smell from it was unlike any I know. The remaining scab beneath

was less red with yellow streaks. Encouraged, poulticed the ankle &

both knees & left all day & overnight. Next day another layer of

scabs rolled off. Kept this up for several more days until the

scabbing was nearly gone.

During the first week, developed an occassional mild pain between my

shoulder blades that came on in the early evenings. By the second

week that was over & my cough nearly gone. Brain fog & irritability

disappeared that first week, too.

Bowel problems straightened out by the second week. Excrement smells

the same as the layers of scabs did.

At the beginning of the second week, I started using the tea as an

eyewash, nasal wash & face lotion. Dark clumps like ashes fell from

my eyes the first few times. After doing this at least twice a day

for the next two weeks, my eyes are faintly pink & much improved

from their deeply bloodshot state at the start. My nose & face also

improved - the itch relieved for hours & dark spots & bumps fading

away.

Put some tea in a spritz bottle at the same time & started spraying

anytime the itch or crawl started up. Now I alternate it with the

Alkalol spray.

The fatty tumor on my shoulder is shrinking & no longer hot. The

low grade fever was history by the second week. By the third week,

the roaming toothache was all but gone (still acts up ocassionally) &

my glands no longer swollen.

I'm nearly done with my month of tea (4 days to go) & I've improved

each day, including my strength & sense of inner balance. I was

rapidly tumbling downhill when I began & credit this tea for turning

the tide. It's the only thing I've done differently besides the

baths. Noticed, too, that a few days into it I lost my desire for

sweets & carbs - think that must be the tea's influence, as well.

I plan to keep taking this tea through the next detox step & beyond.

Know just what you mean by " superglue " scabs & never saw the like

either. Mine started in late Spring way before the actual (obvious)

mite attack at the end of July...front of both knees gradually

developed thick, crusty yellow scabs. Outdoor bites on one ankle in

June wouldn't heal & formed a thick, irregular, continuous yellow &

red scab. None of my usual healers had any effect on them & I usually

heal quickly, too.

The only thing that worked for me to remove the scabs (and their

contents) was the herbal residue strained out of the stovetop tea

I've been drinking. Kept in a glass jar in the fridge & used as a

poultice on the scabs. I pack in on (at least a quarter inch) & cover

with kitchen plastic wrap folded for the area & edged all around

with & 's Coach Sports Tape torn lengthwise to be

narrow. The tape works much better than the adhesive tape for

bandages & pulls away easily - keeps the damp herb pack from leaking

& holds it in place.

The scab turns white & soft & rolls off with a papertowel like dough.

The junk in it - pearls, as you say, and what look like small worms &

thin brown whisker shavings - appears dead. Each poultice, left on

overnight or longer, removes another layer. After 5 days of this, I

was down to pink smooth skin & figured I was done. Wrong - the pink

skin turned shiny as if it was healing - but didn't. Realized the

shine was the " superglue " element when the area started to puff up

again. Resumed the poultices a couple nights ago & the glue is

rolling off now, along with more (smaller) pearls & whiskers. The

puff is gone but I believe the poultices will continue to bring any

more junk to the surface so I won't be fooled again. Plan to keep

them up until the skin is actually healed normally.

The herbal remedy is a version of Essiac, known for its tremendous

" Did the sores get really big? " Yes. Sores covering each knee 5x3

inches long by wide. Ankle's original multiple small bites merged

into one scab 3x4 - now down to three separate ones (nickel, penny &

dime sized) with 2 tiny " satellite " sores in the area.

You'll notice " Don't throw out the sludge! " on that webpage. That's

where I picked up the idea to use the poultices. The fellow used only

a pinch with a bandaid as treatment. I pack it on. Bandaids, being

air permeable, didn't work as well for me as plastic wrap which keeps

the herbs from drying, warms the area with trapped body heat & allows

no exit for the mites. Similar to your strategy with the package

tape. Perhaps a Bandaid to hold the poultice & then covered with

package or scotch tape would combine convenience & efficiency,

depending on the area you need to cover.

Thankfully, haven't felt the sensations you describe when poulticing

my sores. Just a soothing effect.

When I say the bugs are in me, I mean throughout me. Internally &

within the skin. Beneath these scabs are definitely nurseries for

them.

They do come to the surface to crawl (and breed?). Dusk to dawn is

my peak activity period for them on my head. All but my head & hands

is covered by the Buzz Off clothing. Never felt a crawl or bite on

skin beneath the Buzz Off.

This Saturday night before the full moon brought many to the surface,

same as last month. Had me up late flea-combing my mayonnaised hair

for an hour. My seawater bath late yesterday afternoon took an

unprecedented 90 minutes before the debris on the tub sides stopped

accumulating. Suspect I elimated many of the horde ready to swarm,

since I had no crawl last night as the moon became full...Best

Dear Pam, may be the combo action of Instant Ocean baths, tea & other

externals & internals that's doing the trick - hard to isolate one

aspect. But new bites in the shower yesterday faded in the bath

immediately afterwards. Slipped up & got my hair wet in the shower

instead of washing it in the deep kitchen sink as I usually do & got

bitten for my forgetfulness.

You don't need a hot tub or air-jetted tub for the sea baths - any

tub will do.

Can guess she's probably protecting herself from the FDA...which

seems to be conducting a campaign against effective natural remedies

that bring no money into BigPharma's coffers.

When I found she uses Essiac in her products, I knew they would work!

These last two weeks, been using the New Hope line - the kit with the

double soap, body balm & lotion jar in a bar, along with the shampoo

& lip balm. Love them! Best quality stuff I've ever used. Definitely

is flattening & fading the spots.

It's possible your new bites/spots are occurring while you're asleep

& unaware. Also may be not bites but a rash as your body's trying to

elimate toxins. The tea should help either way.
