cleaning cupboards/drawers

Does anybody have any advice about cleaning cupboards and drawers? Do

you empty it out? Do you have to wash everything? I also have a bunch

of boxes of stuff in the attic, should i try to treat those now or

later? The job is daunting, just looking for some advice to make it

easier.
