Guest guest
The viral and yeast infections are just reactions ( or better said, over-reactions) to an immune system disfunction which may set up a vicious circle of recurring illness. Until the immune system is brouhgt under control ( or as Dr. G states, 'cooled down') these infections as well as the other / Autism symptoms will also be present. As for the taking of the meds, I mix the meds with protein ( egg white) powder alsong with organig, pure grape juice ( It has a really strong flaver that will mask just about anything) and using a large syringe without the needle ( purchased at a feed store; used to give horses meds) I squirt it down my sons throat. In the beginning he fussed and squirmed but in a pretty short time (7-10 days) he started taking the meds without too much fuss. Marc Help, question about the antivirals Dr. G. prescribes. I'm new here and just learning about Dr. G and his theory. It seems that he suggest that viral infections and yeast is a big factor in autism. Am I understanding this correctly or not? Also with all the antiviral stuff that everybody is trying, is there anything that isn't pill form or doesn't have a taste or smell to it? I'm interested in getting my son's blood work done testing for what Dr. G suggests, but it won't do any good if my son can't take any of the meds that he's prescribing. He can taste and smell almost anything that I try to sneak in his juice or food. Please anybody with info on this let me know. Guest guest
Marc, when you mention meds, which ones does your child take? Also, does he have a yeast infection as well? How long has your child been taking the meds, and do you see a great improvement? Also, the nutritionist already told me not to use any fruit juices because of the yeast. It's horrible, because when I use a syringe to force it down, he usually gags some of it up. I wish I could use some fruit juice, it would make life just a little bit easier!!! Take care ,
Guest guest
Diane, How old is your child? If your child is still relatively young then you have a chance of making him normal. If that mean holding the kid down and pouring meds down his throat then that is what you have to do. When he is much better you can put him into therapy and he can complain to a psychologist about how how you traumatized him etc. If you don't do it then the future will be much different. Guest guest
I agree with KathyR. In the beginning I tried to disguise my son's meds in juices etc., but he would never touch them or finish them. I was also concerned about all the sugar in juice. So I give my son his medicine in a syringe (the liquid-med sort, no needle). I crush the pills and add a little water and put this in the syringe. I have my son lay on a towel. I straddle him, plug his nose and give him the medicine through the syringe. In the beginning it was difficult, but I persevered because I felt it was critical that he get these meds. Now, 2.5 years later, he still gets them this way (although I'm teaching him to swallow capsules) and it's not a big struggle anymore. Maybe this approach won't work for the faint of heart, but I encourage you to try it, it does get easier and most importantly, your child gets better because he's receiving treatment.
