Guest guest
Damn, biting lady bugs. How sad. when I was a little kid we always played with bugs. they seemed harmless. In fact maybe I am suffering this terrible fate for tearing the wings off fly and watching them drown in the bathroom sink when I was five. Tell you tha truth this experience just makes me want to do it again.J. Guest guest
Hey all,I have come to a conclusion about these bugs. When I was highly infested with millions of crawlies the olive oil seemed to do nothing. But is makes the bitters cease. Someone mentioned that the salt would kill the larva but, does not work so well on the adults. So during crawling we may need to use more sea salt and during biting we need more oils. Its like a balancing act.Nicely enough though i felt a few adults in the living room tonight and I mixed a batch of olive oil and tea tree slathered it on and they are not being bittie now. I decided to put the DE back in the carpet as the baking soda and boric acid have not done anything yet figured adding the DE back in will make them more vulnerable. Not taking any chances either. i am so close to winning this. The ratties went back on the olive oil and tea tree skin mix tonight seems like the sulfur lime dip is not making that big a differance. Olive oil w/ small amount of tea tree went on cage bars too. This was helping a week ago and I should have stuck to my game plan. I figured it out early on though so I am not to worried. Things just picked up a tiny bit the last two days. Will be easy to get it to decrease I am sure. I noticed it takes about 3-5 days for anything new to start revealing results. But sometimes it is hard to tell what is making big differnances when your doing combos. I think I will just stick with combos altogether. In this case it seems like nothing is ever enough or to much. well with no crawlies to be felt at the moment I am going to go catch up on my sleep so that my poor little amun system can be more efficiant at combating these creatures.Sleep well all.J From: Stan Loe <storms@...>Subject: Re: biting lady bugsbird mites Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2008, 9:39 PM I am an englishman whom have trekked across asia (because of work obviously and yes that includes China) for the past 10 or more years, i can tell you quite bluntly that i have not nor any of the locals i have came across experienced any of this until quite recently. Guest guest
No, lady bugs feed on mites, i read about a guy who bought a bunch and let them go in his house, and the next day they were gone...no where to be found. > > I know what you are saying about the global transmition of what ever > this is, I think its safe to say this 'thing' is now pretty much > everywhere... > > Case in point.... yesterday I got bit by a lady bug that flew into my > car and landed on my hand....unbelievable right! > At first it through me into a panic attack about how grave my condition > really must be if an old trustworthy lady bug is taking a nibble.... > Then I got home and researched on the net, and discovered that there > are biting lady bugs (they are not bright red in color, but orange with > semetrical markings) that originate from Asia that are now in many > parts of the US. > > I know this is random, but also significant at the same time > > good night all > z >
Guest guest
Yeah it is pretty sad, I was showing my girls the lady bug at the time, So they will have a classic memory of looking at a lady bug then their mother freaking out about it biting....hmmmmm....my poor kids have been terrorized by all things buggy thats for sure. I wonder if we will ever know 'where' this came from, or did it happen in many parts of the globe at once!....all I know is that I do NOT like the GMO foods and other things in the U.S and China, nor do I like the bloody contrails always zig zagging across the sky the first week out of the month, here in Idaho. Guest guest
hmmmm....didnt post my message. lol. anyways, i remember a while back I had a whole bunch of these lil lady bugs in a corner behind a dresser. They couldnt have been there long but there were so many. it's weird now cause it was wet in that corner from the window leaking so now I'm wonderin'. Do you think these biting lady bugs eat the mites or maybe the fungus on us...ewww, i know that sounds gross. I believe we all have some kinda fungus before the mites even decide we are tasty...like the fungus is our magnetic field. > >> > I know what you are saying about the global transmition of what ever> > this is, I think its safe to say this 'thing' is now pretty much> > everywhere...> >> > Case in point.... yesterday I got bit by a lady bug that flew into my> > car and landed on my hand....unbelievable right!> > At first it through me into a panic attack about how grave my> condition> > really must be if an old trustworthy lady bug is taking a nibble....> > Then I got home and researched on the net, and discovered that there> > are biting lady bugs (they are not bright red in color, but orange> with> > semetrical markings) that originate from Asia that are now in many> > parts of the US.> >> > I know this is random, but also significant at the same time> >> > good night all> > z> >>

Guest guest
J That was an interesting observation you made!! Yes you are close.....I doubt it will be very much longer for you..... Just so you know, the crawling was the last thing to go for us.... I'm not sure why...but perhaps you are right, the products we were constantly using at the time were killing them at at least one life stage. Its been said before and it really is true, that once you get to the point where you have one good day with no bites per week...that you are on the road to recovery....then it becomes two days per week, then three then your out of the mite infested woods. good luck, glad you are improving z
Guest guest
Thanks, I hope its true. I had 3 days of no biting then I did not put any DE on the carpet after vacuuming two days before. I did borax and baking soda instead. I got bit 6 times last night and lathered on the olive oil and tee tree. Today there was some crawling so I came home from work and did my bath shower ritual with the tea tree oil and soap.Microwaved cloths, sprayed myself with lemon raid (hair to thanks Rita) and blow dried like a maniac. I also found a matteress cover that will fit my bed. One less place to worry about. The weird thing is that I hardly feel the crawling sometimes but, if my clothing moves across my body I feel it more. Like they are running or something. That seems strange to me.God I am exausted. I had a huge fight with my Mom via e-mail. She said a lot of nasty things about me one of them was that. I have gone from OCD, to narcissistic, to bi polar. Not that she even understands DSM terminology. I had told my folks that a freind of mine has now caught what ever this is and she said "This is your illness so don't use your friends to validate your illness." When ever anything bad happens to me its the sam crap there is always something wrong with me. Normaly I just blow it off but, this has been so much hell that I finally just fought back today. I am tiered of being treated like a problem, I am teired of if I don't agree with what she thinks being forced or threatened and because of the mites I am just plain tiered. Doesn't make it any easier to deal with when people keep trying to convince you of a psychological problem and I went to school, majored in psychology and become a social worker so I could better understand myself, my family, and relations with others.Yet she is still the one telling me I am a problem. Funny how she doesn't see the big picture of action reaction that occured when I was growing up. What a load of horse shit. Sorry I hope you don't mind me venting about this. "Wishes she could borrow Holly's shock collars."I am glad for your post though Z, some positivity helps. And I do so hope they are going to be gone soon.Have a beautiful evening.Hugs,J. 0/16/08, zmooks <zuleikahwalker@...> wrote:From: zmooks <zuleikahwalker@...>Subject: Re: biting lady bugsbird mites Date: Thursday, October 16, 2008, 11:50 AM J That was an interesting observation you made!! Guest guest
J Just keep doing what ever it is you are doing....3 days is a great sign...some good advice I was given was to evaluate this by weeks, so at the end of the week if you've had a few days bite free then step up your game and work work work because the finish line is looming. Work through your exhaustion because the harder you work now the shorter this ordeal will ultimately be for you.... I am sorry about your mother, if she isnt going to support you, and is going to continue to be a negative influence in your already difficult life, I would skip communicating with her until this is over..... Just my thoughts, as its got to be horrible having to defend yourself.. she could not have picked a worse time to be unsupportive. z

Guest guest
J - My heart breaks everytime I read a post like this. I don't WHICH is the worst part - the reality of what we have to deal with, the mental fear and confusion, or the social aspects - family, friends, medical. All we can do is do the best we can for our condition, and take whatever measure of comfort and support we can from this and/or other groups where we are validated. Waiting for these from society, the cdc, etc., is not something we should focus on (pray for, but move on). When all this first started with me, I couldn't believe it wasn't page 1 in the media...I kept waiting, watching, and nothing... Little bits started rolling in this year, with more nationally televised shows being aired, the cdc conducting a study, etc, but it will all take a long time before we get what our hearts ache for. We just need to cling together, pray, keep our environment clean, and ourselves as healthy as possible through our diet, supplements, and avoidance of chemicals especially in our foods and drink. Guest guest
That's it. My mom is my 'toxic' person. She takes librium but doesn't know she is bipolar. I just always knew that the mom inside her that loves me, and took good care of the basics for us kids despite her illness, is only around a little of the time, and the rest of the time she is the " witchy woman " ! I never go over there without an escape route (car). Of course with the critters I have to be careful which days in my treatment cycle I go over anyway. On the weekend I leave the enzymes in my hair much longer, in a couple days my scalp peels for two more days, then I have a clear(ish) day. That's when I do any visiting that I absolutely can't get out of, and I try not to go too deeply into someone's territory for obvious reasons. Mom confronted me this week, said I don't love her. I leveled and said what I just wrote here. For some reason talking about it helped us both, then I got the heck outta dodge. I'll probably always watch my back with her. Very sad, but at least I still have her, and at least the loving one is still in there sometimes. I'm very grateful for that. Thanks for being here, y'all... in a lot of ways. Guest guest
You don't have to go collect them.....you can buy ladybug and praying mantis eggs from gardening supply places. They are used for natural pest control. LOL you can buy 18,000 ladybugs for about $30. In bird mites , jeannine allaire <ratgodess@...> wrote: > > Hmm, so we sould go collect ladybugs and put them in our homes.
