Guest guest
Count me as another dehumidifier user. We are starting the 4th week and it seems to have made a significant difference, after we purchased 2 more, for a total of 3. Also added Nylar and bifitherin to the vacuuming. I am starting to have longer periods of feeling normal. Jeff – if we have Collombolla, would the dehumidifiers still work to eradicate those? Thanks J. for the tip about microwaving my sheets – has saved me lots of time and energy. Also, wanted to share that Ross Dress for Less has all sizes of satin sheets for very cheap (9.99 for twin) and the mites cannot seem to grow in those. Also, J. iodine works like magic in, on and all around the ears to help clear up mite bites. I thought I would have to go to the emergency room a couple of times, mine were so bad, but I knew antibiotics would make my situation worse. I love the ESP soaps, and they are making a lot of nasty stuff come out of my skin. Z – how long do you remember using the ESP soaps when the biting stopped completely? I am sleeping on a massage table in the living room and can finally get a good night’s sleep away from the infested bedroom. I think the bed rails were too close to the floor and they could hop on me all night. I have been using saran wrap over the top of my face when I sleep to keep them out of my eyes. It works better than anything else I have tried. So does using lavender baby oil gel to keep them out of my private parts. I started 1 tspn of Himilayan sea salt sprinkled on every meal and some buffered vitamin C to accompany. Does anyone (Frito?) know the best amounts of these to take for good results? Many thanks, all. You are my lifeline. ~Pamela
Guest guest
Hi Pamela, As far as I know, ALL life forms depend on water. So if you can make it dry enough for a long enough period of time, it should kill whatever is there. The question is whether a dehumidifier will make it dry enough to kill off whatever your particular pest is. Maybe there are some life forms that can survive indefinitely at humidity levels lower than what the dehumidifier can produce. I don't know anything about Collembolla, but via a google search I found: http://www.collembola.org/ Which states: Ecology: Collembola are soil and litter dwelling, preferring wet or damp surroundings. ... Abiotic factors: In Hypogastruridae, the development is impacted as follows: 1. the lethal temperatures are -4°C and 28°C, 2. the optimum temperature range is 9°C to 12°C, 3. the hygrometric optimum is 98-100% relative humidity; 4. the lethal hygrometric minimun is 93% relative humidity (Thibaud, 1970:161-173). So, if the type of collembola you have also requires high relative humidity, then I think a dehumidifier would be particularly effective against them. Good idea to sleep on the massage table in the living room. If you can get some plastic sheet (drop-cloth -used to protect furniture during painting) to drape over the side (but not touch the floor) that should make it especially difficult for mites / Collemolla to climb up the legs of the table and get to you. I used a drop-cloth over my bed for that reason. -Jeff On Wed, Oct 22, 2008 at 12:34 PM, Pamela <pamelab@...> wrote: > Count me as another dehumidifier user. Guest guest
Pamela I must stress that when I got the order of esp products in the mail we were having such success with the heating that I KNOW my environment was free of the 'things'. I still had a few of them comming out of my skin, so for me it was a couple of days before christmas that I got the products and by christmas day they were gone..... I would be so interested to see if others had that sort of quick response if they used the esp away from their infested environments. I have also had an experience of picking up something again from sleeping on an old couch at my nightshift job (I got this job after the epidmenic to pay for the debt) .... why this possibly could have been in some random couch months after getting rid of our infestation, I just dont know.....but I was able to get rid of that in 2 days as well....I soaked all my clothing in water like Rita has suggested, and used the esp and I didnt need to treat my home environment at all....that was months ago now, and I have simply avoided the couch at work like the plague....this 'thing' is so strange.... So Pamela, that was my experience, It sounds like you are getting better....if I were you I would just keep doing exactly what you are doing now and wait it out....If you are seeing a few days per week of freedom from this, then this should all be over in a month for you... Having periods of time where you feel normal is so encouraging!!!!!! When I reached that point it was all down hill for the 'mites' from there....faster than I even dreamed was possible....I had my life back z
Guest guest
Your welcome Pamela. You may also want to try the sulffer and Oragano oil. Big helps. J. Guest guest
Salt and c is a pace not race kinda thing. Start at a one to one ratio. 1000mgs c to one tsp, which equals 1000mgs salt. I started at three and three thousand and it took me a week to reach bowel tolerance in which everything did not come out of me. If you increase you do it in small increments in weekly periods. Too much too soon can make you herx pretty badly and you don't want to do that. A mild herx, one in which you can still function is what you want. It is a time investment in which you will find quite worth it.
