I have noticed by reading everyone's post that some people are highly allergic to what ever this thing is. Their skin reacts with swelling, redness, and pain that can't be lived with. Then there are those that get the light crawling and the skin that looks like leather. They feel very little and don't go through the pain and torture that some us of do. It's sort of like my neighbors dogs. One dog got this on it's skin and even stopped eating because of the itching. Their other dog didn't show one single sign of the things. Like with other mites, some seem to be carriers.....the rest of us suffer beyond belief. Rita

This is true. My other half has never had a symptom. I am the gage of how progress is because I can feel. For me the bites were like stabing stings. The crawling was insane for a while I wanted out of my skin. Still sometimes I will feel a hair or something touch my skin and my sking freaks out. I respond to touch with fear.

No problem Trly....one thing I forgot to add was the terrible changes in our skin. We started to have skin that felt like we had a tiny grain of sand on top of each pore. Our skin felt like a piece of living sand paper. Then it changed and started to look like crepe paper....just like crinkled up crepe paper. Then it got thick. Each..... what used to be small wrinkles were turning into very deep wrinkles and skin that looked like we had been sailing on the ocean for years. My children thought I was causing the damage to my skin with the Clorox and then the salt. My mother helped me on this one. When she was alive.....bless her heart....I told her what I was seeing when I used the Clorox and salt on my skin. She took straight Clorox and put it on her skin. She poured it on and then used qtips to rub it on. The Clorox didn't turn her skin into a thick, wrinkled red mass of dry itching painful skin. She noticed the same thing I

did. When the skin is free of the mites the Clorox feels just like water....no burning or stinging. But......... ......... oh my goodness...if the mites are in the skin ....the skin explodes.... .I can't think of a better word. The cotton ball of Clorox would go over an area where those damn things were in my skin and the pain was almost unbearable. The skin would seem to swell "explode" as I would call it. I would then actually be able to see the lumps form where the damn things were down in my skin. Those are the areas where I would pay special attention to. I have use the Clorox as a "marker" since the very beginning. It took a long time for the soft supple skin to come back. The Epsom salt seemed to be the solution that helped the skin get it's soft supple feeling back. It took a long time but the skin returned to normal.....I am amazed how human skin can be turned into what looked like hamburger meat and then several months later

look like nothing was ever there. I am still left wondering just how many of the 'things" were down in our skin. We thought for some time they were coming out of us....from internally.. ..now I know that our skin was so infested and the sublayers of skin were so full of the things that it took months to get them out and then months to heal the skin. The hard part was keeping the things from getting back in to the skin while it was healing..... .it was and still is a living nightmare. Rita

I wonder about the antigen - antibody response to these things....I am deeply affected while so many people around me snneeze suddenly a lot....strangers on the street just walking by me, ..............I noticed this over time, now 10 month deep into this mitemare...

Throw him in his own tub of tea tree and sea salt! Promise him

anything to do it...lol. I think people around us can be carriers and

keep setting us back. I made my roomate, who never felt anything, get

into a tub several times of sea salt and lo and behold, black specs

every time. I know you have been making great strides and I want to

see you clear very soon. So get him to try it a couple of times and

don't let him drain the water before you see it. And don't think

about touching my ears!! I'll freak

He has been so good about all of this. he used to shower every other day and now he baths/showers every day. He has dried out his hair, burnt his cloths, and laundred sheets overy other night for my sake. He has doen soaking in epsome salts, using tea tree products, and even used the ESP soap with instructions. He puts his dirty cloths in garbage bags and sprays them with bifitherin. He deals with the fact that laundring has become a way of life.

I asked him to use paper and plastic paltes only so we don't have to use so much water in the kitchen to wash diehes. He even tries to remember to put bleach down the drains when hes done and gives the rats their sulfur when I am at work. He does his best to help me even though sometimes I have to go back and rexplain how things could get reinfcted by not taking appropriate messures. It has been hard on him and I hate making him feel like he can't do anything right cause he tries so hard.

I AGREE...THAT IS WAY BETTER THAN STEADY FIGHTING IT SO IT DOESNT AFFECT THE ONES WHO LOOK AT U LIKE UR CRAZY....or the best one about being told to stop obsessing over it. oh no wait, the best one is every time you try to talk to 'that' person about something you read or found out, you get the eye roll. Yes, you are very blessed. Thanks. He thought I was crazy at first. But I kept pointing out what

others have found too and how its like what i have found. I have shared

the articles people have posted too. I think it made him realize that

maybe there is more to it. He agrees with me. something is going on

even if we can't exactly pin point what so the answer is to use what

ever means seems to be working.But you are right. I am blessed that

he tries to help me with it and I don't think i would have gotten this

far out of the woods with out his help. D/t exhaustion at times. Now

that my family has disowned me over this he is really my only sense of

family. But the stress has not been good for our relationship so that

It's amazing what these BUGS, I'm being polite - I wanted to use a

word that start with F and ends in ers, can drive you too. My roomate

would't come in to protocol and I asked him to leave in my paranoia.

Whether it was justified or no, who knows. Now that he's gone, I miss

his company, cause of these BUGS. I'm not in any serious type of LTR

so in many ways it's easier on me. And on the other hand, it's harder

not to have anyone to share with, even if they only half listen. So

much for me being deep.

SOUNDS LIKE ME...LOL. I WANNA LEAVE MYSELF ABOUT ONCE A DAY. HMMM, STILL TRYING TO FIGURE THAT ONE OUT. MY HUBBY IS VERY STUBBORN. VERY. HE ABSOLUTELY DIDNT BELIEVE ME AT FIRST...ABOUT IT BEING MITES. HE KNEW SOMETHING WAS BITING ME BUT...WHAT? OF COURSE, NO CLUE. i THREW OUT EVERYTHING...CLEANED, CLEANED, CLEANED. BURNED THE BOXSPRING...PULLED THE MATTRESS APART LAYER BY LAYER(PILLOW TOP) FINALLY BURNED IT. i WAS JUST LOOKING FOR THAT PROOF! THEN WHEN I FOUND IT AND SHOWED IT TO HIM ON THE MICROSCOPE...IT WAS STILL NOTHING. I TOLD HIM TO PICK A SPOT ON HIMSELF AND I WOULD PROVE IT. HE DID AND i PUT SOME VASELINE ON IT. WAITED A SECOND AND TOLD HIM TO TELL ME IF HE FELT ANYTHING. SO HE POINTED TO A SPOT AND I GRABBED IT. PUT IT ON A NEW SLIDE AND SHOWED HIM A PERFECT(CLEAR) MITE. SO, THEN I WAS LIKE OKAY WHAT DO YOU THINK NOW? HE SAYS, HE HAS TO SEE ONE MOVE TO BELIEVE IT. HE FINALLY DID WHEN HE REMOVED THE SECOND BIRD NEST FROM UNDER THE EAVE...AND THEY CRAWLED ALL OVER HIS LIGHT BLUE WORK SHIRT. I am blessed in a sense that I have family members and certain close

friends that understand what I'm going through and give me loving

support. 2 of my family members have been suffering with mites for

over 10 years although I've never been bothered by the species they

have (I was probably just a carrier). In those 10 years, I've often

called them crazy, ridiculed them, yelled at them, etc. Now I have

what seems like different species (got from a used car I bought in

June) and have finally come to an understanding of the pain and

suffering they were going through. The type they have give them

crawlies and itching after the bites. The type I have is more

potent b/c I get the painful pin pricks all day and the crawlies. I

have apologized to them for my treatment of them the last 10 years

and they have been nothing but supportive of my ordeal. What's hard

is that now I can't freely visit them at their home b/c I don't want

to even take the chance of me giving to them. If I go over for

dinner, I often eat in the garage or take the food home. Yes, it's

really depressing. But I thank God for their love an support. My

mom has began a routine of waking up at 6am everyday to pray for an

hour for me. This ordeal has made me really reflect on how I was

living my life in front of God and I believe it's God's way of

telling me how much he loves me that he did not want to see me live

like I was living anymore. I now pray and " talk " to God like I've

never done in my life before.

I don't want to make ppl here feel uncomfortable with all the God

talk but when I'm at the point of breaking down, it's the prayers

that get me through the day, along with the love from my family and

also the support that I get from all of you on this forum. To these

things, I really thank God.

You guys are the best. Let's continue at this and beat it together!

Thats the enigma. SHould i be understanding about my husband NOT

being understanding? Should i expect him to be supportive about

something that makes no sense to him? He thinks if i really have a

problem, then i should go to the doctor. Not listen to random people

on the internet. Its an understandable point of view, but his

behavior has been unforgivable, and i cant let my kids think thats

the way you treat people you love. Whether they are crazy or not.

I am very blessed to have family members (and you guys)that BELIEVE

and support me. My grandma has even offered up her savings of three

hundred dollars from her fixed income...what a sweetheart. (I WOULD

NEVER TAKE IT)

P.s. i am a forgiving person, if he asked me to forgive him, i would.

but he aint asking, and i aint offering.

I am sorry to hear that you had to tell your roomate to go. Social isolation is a silent killer this is true. Hang in there Bob. You are making the best of you resources in connecting with others who understand the f***ers and the isolation. We are here for you and if you want to share many of us are all ears. You are not alone anddeffinatly not an island. Infact with all the talk seems like many of us would like to build one.

It's amazing what these BUGS, I'm being polite - I wanted to use a word that start with F and ends in ers, can drive you too. Hang in there Chasity. I am glad your husband is being so helpful. Every oppertunity that he tries needs to be encouraged because it is so hard to keep up in this situation. He can become as equally discouraged as you just because of the work coupled on top of the fact that he is baring the weight of your emotional experiance as well. He may not be going through the mites in quit the same way. But he is still going through it vicariously.

P.S. it does take more time to get through this with another person I think. but its a balance of what is important. Erradicating the mites is as important as maintaining ones relationship if it is a worth while relationship. Some times it is best to understand that eventually both parties will get it right with the erradication process but it is going to require team work and patients which is difficult to muster when you just want it gone. Try to focus on the little things and then try to ask and discuss where something else can be strengthend. It may take some of the stress off. Another thing i found helpful is now that the situation is dulled down try to have some fun. A board or video game maybe a puzzle. Something interactive that you can do together periodically that has nothing to do with mites.

Hope this is helpful. I am not sure what it is you guys or already doing at this point. I just know it is hard and this is what has helped some for me.

Thank you. It is awesome that you have come around and realized that people are all going through differant things. There is a need to be more humble and understanding. I am blessed in a sense that I have family members and certain close friends that understand what I'm going through and give me loving support. 2 of my family members have been suffering with mites for over 10 years although I've never been bothered by the species they have (I was probably just a carrier). In those 10 years, I've often called them crazy, ridiculed them, yelled at them, etc. Now I have what seems like different species (got from a used car I bought in June) and have finally come to an understanding of the pain and suffering they were going through. The type they have give them crawlies and itching after the bites. The type I have is more potent b/c I get the painful pin pricks all day and the crawlies. I have apologized to them for my treatment of them the last 10 years and they have been nothing but supportive of my ordeal. What's hard is that now I can't freely visit them at their

home b/c I don't want to even take the chance of me giving to them. If I go over for dinner, I often eat in the garage or take the food home. Yes, it's really depressing. But I thank God for their love an support. My mom has began a routine of waking up at 6am everyday to pray for an hour for me. This ordeal has made me really reflect on how I was living my life in front of God and I believe it's God's way of telling me how much he loves me that he did not want to see me live like I was living anymore. I now pray and "talk" to God like I've never done in my life before.I don't want to make ppl here feel uncomfortable with all the God talk but when I'm at the point of breaking down, it's the prayers that get me through the day, along with the love from my family and also the support that I get from all of you on this forum. To these things, I really thank God.You guys are the best. Let's

ok something personal...as far as relationships. Do you think it would be alot easier if you actually got into a relationship with someone who you already know is battling this same affliction? I wonder about this cause one one hand you dont have to worry about infecting them, you know they UNDERSTAND what ur going through(and vice versa)then you have a team instead of one person trying to fix it all. Nobody wants to be alone, no matter what they say. you justify being alone by saying or thinking you dont want to spread this to someone. Then there's always that feeling of defeat when u are bone tired from cleaning and doing everything you can to get RID of this from u and ur environment and that other person just comes in and un-does EVERYTHING in a matter of minutes. I have always had a problem with people touching me...the only people I never felt that way about are the children i gave birth to. Now, it's so much worse where i cringe when my hubby goes to kiss me on the cheek to say bye for the day. I know now that it's my body's reaction to the ones on him. He is definitely a carrier. His parents(who are and have been a true blessing) live next to us and their house is so infested. I've felt it for years and it got to the point that I didnt go over there for a LONG time and didnt realize why until i figured out what was goin on. I thought it was just my allergies but her house is VERY,VERY clean. The only thing is their garage has sheetrock and insulation still stacked up since about 1980, no kiddin. and the a/c unit pulls through the hall straight out of the garage. (I found a bird nest in there last week ) They have a chimney and it has chimney swifts all the time. So when my kids and hubby go over there(everyday) they bring them back to me. So i feel like i am fighting a losing battle...I feel I am being so unfair to him in the sense that he doesnt deserve this either. He is a great person and deserves someone who can welcome his affection and not find rejection when he's offering it. I know this is hard on him...I just dont know how to fix it. I think that so much damage has been done that it's humanly impossible to go back. sorry for the ramble, here's what i'm wondering. If you want the best for people u love, do you keep fighting this thing or move on. Do you give them the opportunity to find someone else? someone it doesnt affect? Wee, to answer your question re: it being easier for some one who is surviving this I would say it depends on the people. Every one cops differantly. If ty was afflicted too I think it would be worse bacuase he would want to push me out to deal with it instead of work with me. He seems more inclined to work with me when he doesn't have his own stuff to deal with. Some one else might handel things vary differantly or not. And it depends on how we cope to. I freaked out when all of this started and sometimes I fell so hopeless. If I was with another person who was freaking out at the same time we would tak it out on each other and no one would get any support. Just depends on how people function really.

I know you feel bad that your husband is going through this with you, but it is enevitably his choice. If he wants to stay with you through this then it is it seems you both care about how eachother feel. He cares your going through this and you care he is going through a tough time too. It is probably more of a strength if both of you knows that the other is concerned for each persons well being as it can be easy to feel misunderstood in all of this. Your husband seems to be taking some efforts to help. a sure sign he cares even if it is hard for him to change things and cope with this. You may want to bring it to his attention that you notice the things he does do and that you really appriciate it cause he is helping. See where a conversation about it goes. I don't want to sound negitive nelly here, but sometimes when we start beleiving that some one who is already there for us doesn't deserve us

without credit and support to them those very thoughts push some one we did not need to push out of our lives.

I do not entierly know your situation with your husband, I am shearly speaking re: your question and general experaince. So I am hoping that if any thing I have said applies that it helps but, if thats not the case then please feel free to disregaurd any of this. It is kind of a touchy subject talking to others about how to go about relationships because we are all differant and not every size fits all. I would hate to give poor advice and further make something worse for another.

Holly,

You have a valid point in beleiving that you deserve to be treated with respect snd dignity. And yes, certainly your children do need to learn the same so that they don't allow others in thier life to treat them poorly. It is good that your best intrest is that they learn that it is not ok to be mistreated by others so they may set appropriate bounderies.

Thats the enigma. SHould i be understanding about my husband NOT being understanding? Should i expect him to be supportive about something that makes no sense to him? He thinks if i really have a problem, then i should go to the doctor. Not listen to random people on the internet. Its an understandable point of view, but his behavior has been unforgivable, and i cant let my kids think thats the way you treat people you love. Whether they are crazy or not. Well I don't have that much to be entertaining, Only a little
