Guest guest
Mel, might CO2 work " for a few days " because it is killing mites but not eggs? Maybe using it needs to be repetitive and consistent for a few months, like the other strategies. How long do you leave stuff in the CO2? Currently my laptop and some sofa cushions have been in (separate) XXL Ziplock bags with CO2 for 24 hours. I didn't use a hose, just put the nozzle up to a small gap in the seal, filled the bags, turned nozzle off, resealed. I didn't get an answer to a previous q. about some site where someone posted explicit instructions for using CO2. (Thanks Holly for sending me a reference to a message on this site--it was helpful, but not basic enough for me.) Regarding cost, a friend located a 20 lb cartridge for me at a grungy old place behind the local fire station. It cost $55 and refills will be around $15. Winter coats--I've been dreading this. I'm thinking CO2 for leather jackets, the oven for wool and down. Mine have been bagged since last winter when I figured out that they were harboring what was biting me after it happened dramatically in a rental car. I had no idea what the problem was, only that I had to get them out of my environs. I improvised keeping warm with various jackets and layers, and had to bag some of them too. I see that I'd better get started on my backlog. . . . ES > > > > > > Hi Rita and everyone: > > > > > > Well, I got my dehumidifier and it is hooked up in the car!!! The > > humidity in there is 16%.
