Guest guest
Great !!!! write it on the calendar and keep track....seems it's right in to the 5 to 6th week that the units start to make their effects really known......I sure hope it helps. Rita My Dehumidifier Hi Rita and everyone: Well, I got my dehumidifier and it is hooked up in the car!!! The humidity in there is 16%. That is really dry, so I am hoping it helps in the car. Next month, I'm going to buy another one and hook it up in my bedroom and/or kitchen. So, i'll let you know if it actually kills my buggers in my car. I had it hooked up in the bedroom last night, and the lowest it got was 39%, but it did remove alot of water from the air. http://www.amazon.com/Soleus-CFM-40-40-Pint-Dehumidifier-Humidistat/dp/B00009RAVO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & s=home-garden & qid=1224896843 & sr=8-1 mel
Guest guest
Mel, As far as your house goes, it would take several days for you to see the humidity levels drop. The dehumidifier is pulling moisture from the air, carpet, walls, furnature, ect. It takes a little while. I will be very interested to see how your car experiment goes. Guest guest
Rita: That seems like a very long time for the car. Already, the humidity is very low in the car - 16%. I was thinking more like 3 days. lol...., but thanks for telling me this. I tend to rush things. Guest guest
thanks Save. I will let you guys know my progress. Now I am wondering if I should put those menthols crystals in the car, when the dehumidifier is running???? seems like it might clog up the unit. Guest guest
I thought you used CO2 for your car?? Is that not working for you anymore? > > > > Hi Rita and everyone: > > > > Well, I got my dehumidifier and it is hooked up in the car!!! The > humidity in there is 16%. Guest guest
the co2 is costly. Works for a few days. It's complicated. I have a 20 pound that i am using to co2 small items, like laptop, mouse, keyboards, purse. But I also have a 10 pound and a 5 pound for the car. I don't think those 2 do a very good job in the car; not enough co2 or something. I tend to infest my car and I'm down in south florida and it has been raining non-stop for the past few months. too humid and wet in there, you know? last time I went to the gas shop, the guy said that the prices were going up by about 100% for the refills. If the dehumidifier works by keeping the car dry, then that's a better deal for now. I've done everything else. I'm on a monthly fixed income. So, I have to be careful with the $ I spend. they will not exchange those small tanks for a larger tank and a new tank costs like $100 or more now. How is the co2 working for you? mel From: savemyskin4me <savemyskin4me@...>Subject: Re: My Dehumidifierbird mites Date: Saturday, October 25, 2008, 1:32 PM I thought you used CO2 for your car?? Guest guest
Hi Mel, The CO2 works well for us, but we also use menthol and Nylar in the cars. The weather is getting colder where I live and it's not that humid so I think that helps. My big concern now is what to do about winter coats....it's not like we can wash them everyday. I really really hope your dehumidifier works for you, do you put in the car and run it with a extension cord?? > > > > > > Hi Rita and everyone: > > > > > > Well, I got my dehumidifier and it is hooked up in the car!!! Guest guest
Frito, Do you mean the flea powder with Nylar? I use Nylar that comes as a spray. > > > > > > > > Hi Rita and everyone: > > > > > > > > Well, I got my dehumidifier and it is hooked up in the car!!! The > > > humidity in there is 16%. Guest guest
I think Frito uses something different than what I use. I use a liquid that you put into a sprayer. It is safe after it dries. Nylar is even used in pet shampoo to control fleas. I get mine at: www.cooperseeds.com/pestproducts.php3?prod=I_G_regulator2 it costs $16.00 plus shipping and will treat 6000 Sq. Guest guest
I bought mine from www.domyownpestcontrol.com. http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/demize-nylar-igr-p-273.html Demize Nylar IGR 1 pint, $48.50 Per instructions, you can add 1.5-2 ounces of it to a gallon of water. I use a garden sprayer that I bought at Home Depot like this: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay? storeId=10051 & langId=- 1 & catalogId=10053 & productId=100637818 & N=10000003+90401+501830 I bought the 1 gallon one for under $10. It's cheap so the spray nozzle is plastic and sprays in a halo pattern. Maybe the more expensive ones with metal nozzels have more even spray (like a uniform horizontal line as opposed to a halo). > > > > > > > > > > Hi Rita and everyone: > > > > > > > > > > Well, I got my dehumidifier and it is hooked up in the car!!! > The > > > > humidity in there is 16%.
