Guest guest
Hi Sue and everyone.....Sorry to report that Steve didn't get to make Hawaii. Due to the downturn of the global economy...it has affected his work which affects his pocketbook. I am literally really upset, but, what can I do...ya know. I thought I was going to get to spend Christmas in New Zealand, but that doesn't seem to be happening either unless a miracle comes through. For now though, I will just take it one day at a time. I had a wonderful time there though. Happy Holidays... da yahna bear (who still wishes she was in Hawaii)

Did he tell you ahead of time or after you got there you found out? I know you mentioned there was the possibility the trip would be cancelled. You worked *so* hard to get that money, especially replacing it after your purse was lost and everything, that if you knew you could have cashed in your ticket and gotten one for the Christmas trip in its place. Oh, well. At least you got to see Hawaii. Sue in NJ who has only been as far West as the Poconos

I'll pitch in a few bucks to help. Amy __________________________________________________
Guest guest
G'day Amy, No, I went to Hawaii with our High School band who was chosen out of all the bands in Oklahoma to represent Oklahoma and the USS Oklahoma Battleship which capsized 07 Dec 1941 during the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. This is their 60th Anniversary. Since I was going to be in Hawaii, my husband, who lives in New Zealand, was going to meet me there. We married 27 Jan 01 and he had to return in February. So, we were going to take that time to honeymoon. But, due to the downturn of the global economy since the Trade Center attack on 11 Sept 01, his company has faced deficeits severely, in turn affecting his coming over here for Hawaii and probably even my going there for Christmas. I had a lovely time and it was a trip of generations...not just a trip of a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks and have a great day. da yahnabear (who had a lovely time, despite the saddening that Steve couldn't make it) -------------------------------------------------- Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. All these months all I remember reading was about the honeymoon. I guess you mentioned the band angle of it on the old list before I was even a member. Either that or it just didn't register to this tired old brain. >I had a lovely time and it was a trip of generations...not just a trip of a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!! I *told* you my uncle loved it there. Now you see why. Sue in NJ
