Guest guest
I'm glad you are home, . Welcome back! I'm so happy to hear that the surgery was a success. Good luck with your parents and, most of all, your recovery. And I'll continue to hope that Dan will be OK. Try to take it easy, woman! [ ] I'm home > I'm home! Came home yesterday and promptly went to sleep. As Steve told you, but then never checked my email again. Things went well. They took a large piece of facia from my right leg, thank goodness I'm almost 6' tall-only needed one leg and used it as a graft in my abdomen. Now I can't lift or anything strenuous. I have 3 drains in for awhile and about 12 inches of staples in my belly and 18 inches of sutures in my leg and of course my forever present binder. Suddenly my bad leg ( knee replacement) has become my good leg! > My parents are coming starting tomorrow till Saturday. That in itself is stressful but oh well, they mean well. Still don't know what son, Dan is going to do with his life. Daughter, a says that he has started rationalizing what his girlfriend did to him. Putting the blame elsewhere for her violent behavior. Not good. He needs psychiatric treatment and won't get it without me pushing. How can I push from 2,000 miles away. > Temple

Guest guest
I'm glad you're home and hope that you have a quick recovery. There really isn't much you can do to help your son since he is over 18 and so far away. It's hard to watch your own child make mistakes, and be helpless to do anything. I hope your visit with your parents is enjoyable and you feel better soon. a [ ] I'm home I'm home! Came home yesterday and promptly went to sleep. Guest guest
a, Thanks for your concern. I am doing OK although I did take a nap and sleep for 3 hours this afternoon. If I remember to take the pain meds religiously, they work. Also on antibiotics since I have drains still. This has to work. Now my bad leg is my good leg-funny. I had one really bad, emotionally, day in the hospital when I got really discouraged. This was my 8th abdominal surgery in 6 years. Can't lift more than 5 pounds-that's nothing. Dan is on his way home-then what I don't know but all we can do as parents is let the kids know that they are loved. Guest guest
, I hope you continue to do well and this is the end of your abdominal surgeries. It is really strange to have a once bad knee become the good one. I'm happy that your replacement is so successful. Keep resting, it is good for healing. a Re: [ ] I'm home a, Thanks for your concern. I am doing OK although I did take a nap and sleep for 3 hours this afternoon. Guest guest
, I actually lost 2 weeks worth of email. Strange. It may be my cable company doing the transformation from @home. I understand that they are finally done, so hopefully my email problems will be a thing of the past. I will write about my adventures when I get caught up. First I need to see how all my buddies are doing! a wrote: > Hooray! I'm so happy to know that you are back safe and sound. Can't > wait to hear all about your adventures, a. Guest guest
LOL Lynn!!! Wishing me a painful vacation LOL! It was very restful and although the first part of the trip was quite painful, after a few days I started to feel better. Florida weather and all the water activities really agree with me. By the second week, I felt better than I've felt in a long time. But now I'm back to the 20 degree weather. Boo hoo. a Ruf-Caimi wrote: > Hi a, > I was wondering what happened to you. Guest guest
Glad you made it back, . I'm proud of you, too. Did the Enbrel start working for you again? Maybe you could give a mini-review of the scooter you used since there are several people here thinking about purchasing one. [ ] I'm home > I am back from vacation and very proud of myself. We left on 2/13 and returned yesterday. Left our rental at 6:15 Am, layover in Atlanta then home or rather to the airport at 3:01. We spent 6 days doing Disney- Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and MGM; 1 day at Sea World; and 1 day at Islands of adventure and 1 day at Universal-only rainy day. I did everything except the rollercoasters. I used a scooter which we rented off site but still transferred for rides-tough with the pain in my hip- replacement on April 10th
Guest guest
, I'm so glad you are doing well. So It was worth it all? I sure hope so. Exactly what did they do? and what made the dr. opt for surgery? The reason I ask is that I have asked about a knee replacement and they said I was too young. Since when is 53 young? Guest guest
Stacey, this is marvelous news! Thanks for letting us know that you are home safe. Sorry to hear that you had to stay an extra day, but I'm glad they were taking good care of you. Wonderful that the pain in your hip and leg is gone. I hope your recovery goes smoothly. Please don't do anything crazy like mow the grass again! They forgot to tell you no driving AND no mowing. Guest guest
So glad to hear you are home, Tess. Hope your recovery is smooth, but just being able to sleep again will be a big help Noreen [ ] I'm home Hi Sweet People...I got home late yesterday afternoon. I had been running a fever since the middle of the night, so they ran extra tests before I could go. I have a number of things to keep an eye on. I've never been so " loopy " as with this surgery. If I was goofy on the phone, please know it was wonderful to hear from you whether I was " all there " or not. I KNOW your prayers and those of others got me through a difficult time. I am grateful. I will write as I can. I slept very little at the hospital. I have been sleeping a lot since I got home...I wouldn't sell my funky little recliner that practically came straight from Heaven for a million dollars, at least not now. : ) Em works today, so a friend is coming over. Em has had a very difficult time - please keep her in your prayers. To say I love you all would be quite an understatement. Hugs & Hope....
