Guest guest
And yes, even nuts and especially dehydrated "raw" foods slow my elimination to nil for a day or two. I consider my system virtually uncloggable. Hitting the bathroom is the first thing I do every morning and I probably "go" about 2-3 more times a day after my initial "evacuation". I think it's partly because of all the veggies (cooked and raw), cereals and grains that I eat. BUT, I get sluggish bowels when I eat nuts. They are very concentrated, fatty, difficult to digest, and have virtually no moisture in them and that can lead to constipation. Guest guest
I either eat raw, or I eat SAD. For me, there doesn't seem to be much in between. And, for my body, if I eat any cooked, it negatively impacts my system. Speaking only for myself, my body tends to stop regular elimination if I eat cooked foods. Even raw nuts slow things down. After giving the whole " health for myself " a lot of thought, I think that the most important thing that I can do for myself is to clean out my insides, beginning with the intestine. To me, anyone to weighs more than they should, needs to cleanse their insides,. Using this as a basis for seeking better health, I believe that if my elimination system isn't working well, I am not progressing toward better health. Given this logic, and the observations of my own body's reactions to food, and again, speaking only for myself, at this time, all cooked foods seem to be an unhealthy thing for me. Guest guest
For me, comfort food is tomato soup. And, I hate to admit, a grilled cheese sandwich. Ohhhh, ! Don't hate to admit it. I also used to LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches. Dairy doesn't sit well with my body, but grilled cheese sandwiches (with dill pickles and potato chips) and tomato soup is a wonderful memory!! Guest guest
I guess my comfort food was potatoes in any way shape or form and chocolate. It's funny but I was never a big potato person although an all time fave was mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and then mix peas and corn with it. I must say a BIG comfort food for me was macaroni and cheese. I could have lived on that! Snowy icy day here today...makes me think of comfort food. My biggest comfort food.....SOUP! Nice hot thick soup! And that's one I STILL eat and will never give up! Gloria

Guest guest
Now that is one thing I could never get a liking for and that was tomato soup and/or grilled cheese sandwiches. Just never did it for me. I guess my comfort food was potatoes in any way shape or form and chocolate. I can remember eating potatoes raw as a kid, same with onions. Loved the stuff. Guest guest
Hello I love tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich!! I know just what you mean. I know that cheese and bread aren't so good for us but once and a while I think is alright. As long as we don't clog our bodies with it I think we'll be alright. Enjoy your soup dear. Guest guest
My comfort food - Cooked roasted buckwheat groats with butter and a little milk. Or oatmeal with lots of butter and a little milk. Not the soupy stuff most call oatmeal - we used to cook it almost like rice. The Russians have a saying " You can't ruin porridge with too much butter! " Gayla Always Enough Ranch Acampo, California http://bouncinghoofs.com/alwaysenough.html Bill Barnhill is our Inspiration!
