Guest guest
Hey there, Your intuition is right - although cold DOES reduce inflammation quite successfully, it also does retard healing. THe opposite with heat, it speeds healing but increases inflammation. THat's why usually a mix of heat/cold is best. (only after an acute episode of inflammation) This is the theory for injuries etc. Tired muscles are a different story, but for injury caused inflammation - cold is a better option, if you feel inclined for heat, at least cold then heat alternating every 20 min or so. Anyway. THat's my info on cold/heat. We have a lot of discussion of this in my office (chiro/massage wellness centre).....
