Hi Bev,

Thank you! We took him to the pediatrician yesterday. The DR. was not very

concerned, which concerned me! I told her I wanted to put him on antibiotics

just in case. I guess I upset her. She told me " she would not put her children

on antibiotics! " We were told that there is no chance he can get lyme from a

wood tick...I am still worried about RMSF and anything else he can get from the

tick bite...

I am still putting cortisone on the site. It is looking much better today. How

long will this go on for? I will now start taking pictures...I will not let my

guard down w/ this...

not by religionists, but by Christians;

not on religions,

but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

For this very reason peoples of other faiths

have been afforded asylum, prosperity,

and freedom of worship here. " - Henry

Hi Sis: You must be really worried, but I'm sure the doctor who tests you can tell you pretty quickly if you have Lyme. I don't have much experience with it in humans, but I think if you catch it quick enough and treat it with antibiotics, it'll be OK. I recently moved from New England and worried the whole time I was there about getting infected with something from mosquitoes or ticks as they're really bad there. My dog got infected with Lyme Disease a couple of months ago and was horribly sick and almost lame, but the antiobiotics got her back to normal within a few days; of course, I know it's different when animals get it. Kateauntsisnj <auntsisnj@...> wrote: I posted last month about the tick that was embedded in my leg. After being sick for over a year because of implants, the tick was certainly not a welcome sight. I sent the tick to a lab for examination and the tick tested positive for Lyme. Tomorrow I'm going to a Lyme specialist to see how she thinks I should proceed (and I've been to her already because she tested me for silicone antibodies, she's a rheumatologist). I don't like the thought of going on antibiotics, but I'm thinking she's going to recommend that. My joint swelling has improved quite a bit these past few months, and the tick bite worries me quite a bit, but hopefully if I've got Lyme in addition to everything else, at least I caught it early.

There is a new protocol that many people are tryingwith lyme disease

which involves the use of salt/vitamin C. I am doing it and have

witnessed that it does indeed kill all kinds of pathogens. If you

have interest, email me and I will give you more info.

Hugs,

Kathy

The rash caused by Lyme is a bulls-eye looking rash.

I had Lyme's twice and never had a bulls-eye rash. In fact the first time I had it, I just had a little red spot the size of a quarter on my foot (the tick bite was on my arm). That went away and then over the next 2 weeks I periodically broke out in hives from head to to. The second time I had it I got a plain old rash that got bigger and bigger (no bulls-eye). The doctor said it wasn't bulls-eye and concluded it wasn't Lyme. I demanded a test and he went along with it. Sure enough...it came back positive

Kathy,

Sometimes people are just allergic to

whatever bug bit them. It could be you are just having a bad

reaction. I would press for a Lyme test in the problem doesn’t

resolve in a week. Ticks sometimes carry other infections as well, so I

am pretty sure your health care provider will check everything. Cool

compresses can help with itching and swelling in the meantime. Where do

you live by the way? Lyme is common in New England and the mid Atlantic

areas of the U.S.

Tick Bite

Hi everyone,

Even tho " Mom " is not here I am sure she

is fine -probably sleeping and comfortable.

I should have posted this earlier but I thought I

was on the road to recovery so I did not.

Last Thurs. I removed some kind of tiny bug from my

eyelid. IT was about the size of a flea but it was not a flea. It crawled not

jumped. Me and my husband are both practically blind so we could not see it

very well but my son said it looked like a baby tick. We disposed of it after

that. Over the weekend my eye started swelling and by Mon. I looked like a

monster and still do. I went to the Dr. Who put me on Keflex. So far the

swelling has not went down - it is spreading under my eye and my cheek. Pain

has subsided at least. It itches alot.

Everyone is scaring me to death here talking about

Lyme disease.

Wanted to see what you all thought about it.

I am tellin ya this little critter did a number on

me.

Swelling is going down a little bit tonight.

Swelling could just be a reaction from the bite. The usual thing to look out for with Lyme is some sort of rash or red blotch and any muscle stiffness, especially in the neck and shoulders. But, yes...ask him about a test. Lyme symptoms vary with everyone and you want to find out for sure.

Hi Kathy,

Keflex is an antibiotic for treatment of bacterial infections. So

while taking it remember to eat probiotics such as yogurt and/or

cabbage for your bowels.

As for the swelling, in this case, as much as I hate to say it (and I

REALLY HATE to say it), you may need to revisit the Doctor. This

could be serious.

For temporary relief, try alternating hot and cold packs every 15-20

minutes for a couple of hours.

Not too much help, I know. Sorry. But you are in my prayers.

Peace, love, laughter
