That water drinking contest was right here near me. Someone called in and said it could be dangerous and the people on the radio program said, "oh we aren't worried. They all signed waivers."

Totally stupid. Now water has a bad name.

you need more water, drink it slower and stop sucking down air when you drink itCandace <cpodratz@...> wrote: Health Awareness, Wisdom & Knowledge This worries me….. I very

very very rarely ever get thirsty. Some one told me one sign of dehydration is when your body starts mistaking your need for water as hunger. My urine (sorry to be so graphic) is pretty dark colored and is pretty stinky. But if I force myself to drink water – knowing that is what I need – I feel bloated and gross. Not sure how to find the right amount of water for

Not urinating was part of the problem, but

she still would have died from water intoxication. The kidneys can only handle

so much.

Re: Why drinking TOO MUCH water is dangerous

Could it

be that it wasn't so much the water, as the

not going pee after?

Holding it is a big problem and can really back up

your system. Had those people in the contest gone

right ahead and pee'd it out, they may have been just

fine?

Also, for the one who says she just can't drink more,

my little sister is one of those who doesn't drink

enough. When she was small Mom tried everything to get

more liquid in her. Her kids are showing some of the

same things. And prone to constipation and backed up

bowels as well. None of them drink like the rest of

us.

She is beginning to learn to drink more now, and she

does actively work at it sometimes.

As for me, I drink lots. Of course I also pee it out.

But I can't imagine not drinking a bunch, and yep, its

nearly all water, with some fresh juices and

smoothies.

But the minute I let up on intake, the urinary tract

starts to make itself known in a hurry.
