Guest guest
We experienced this with my son after first going gfcf. His skin had always been dry feeling, but it never seemed to bother him until after the dietary changes. His skin felt the same--no new bumps or rashes--but suddenly it bothered him a good deal. Our best guess was that he had just become more aware of physical sensation as a result of the removal of the peptides. The good news is, though it drove him crazy for awhile, after about a month his skin stopped itching and is now as soft as baby skin. [ ] Itchy skin Hi! Quick question for you all! My son seems to be more itchy than usual since starting the enzymes. We are on day 4 of using Peptizyde. He takes one tablet twice a day with large meals. He has been GFCF for about a month now. He is complaining lately of his whole body being " itchy. " No visible bumps or rash. Apparently just a sensation. Rubbing CFGF lotion doesn't seem to help. Anyone else experienced this? Cz. _________________________________________________________

After he started the Peptizyde he rubbed his arms and complained of being " owwie " . This lasted for about two weeks. I think he was becoming aware of his sense of touch, because before he was very INsensitive to touch, and he felt " different " from what he felt before. Guest guest
Hi all I am new to the nids protocol. My son started last week on anti- fungals. He has been itching all over his legs and arms. I don't know if its a die off or dust mites or just dry skin. Is there any natural oil or cream that would help. His skin is exteremely dry and looks whitish. I was told off a cream off the counter called aqua something. I don't know what its called. Does anyone have a clue or could suggest any remedy. thks so much mom in need.
Guest guest
The lotion you're referring to may be Aquaphor. It is the ONLY thing that I can use on my hands when they are really cracked and dry, because everything else stings so terribly. It comes in tubes or a big " Vaseline " style vat. You can get it at places like Walgreens. I put it on thick at night with gloves or socks on my hands! By the way, you haven't changed soaps, have you? I have one child who is so allergic to regular liquid hand soap that we keep a pump bottle of Cetaphil (actually we use the Target generic brand) at the sink for her to wash her hands with (per her local Dr.). The cold weather seems to sensitize her skin and really set it off. Guest guest
We also use calendula cream or lotion, from the health food store. Guest guest
Hi, When the yeast dies, the dead yeast are toxins in our bodies until our bodies get rid of them. One way our bodies get rid of toxins is through the pores. Perhaps extra exercise (break a sweat) and extra water may help? If the itchiness is caused by the antifungal then it will diminish as his body adjusts. Best of luck as you start the protocol. Let us know when you observe progress. We are cheering for you guys. Guest guest
Hi Kavita, My daughter went through the itching to the point that she rubbed her back with the corner of the wall and left huge bruising between her shoulder blades. It was terrible watching her be so uncomfortable but the end result was well worth it. has had 3 yeast die offs since and honestly each has been less than the one before. We changed her anti fungal recently and I am still waiting for a die off. Who knows maybe we have gotten it under control. Wouldn't that be amazing. I have been very strict with her diet and extremely careful with giving her meds on time. Your little guy will muscle through this and in the end you will begin to see changes. Remember that it does take time and it is hard to see the changes when we are with our children daily. I have realized most of our daughters improvements by comparing things from the previous year. Such as her reaction to people at our family reunion from year to year. It is wonderful to see the changes. Hang in there, Sheri April Jagnow <april@...> wrote: Hi, When the yeast dies, the dead yeast are toxins in our bodies until our bodies get rid of them. Guest guest
We use something called anti-itch cream with diphenhydramine hydrochloride (an anti-histamin) in it. Works very quickly for us. However, if he's been on meds a week I'd be surprised if it's die off. Maybe, I'm wrong. Sounds like others have experienced this. We just haven't had that experience. I always worry about things like allergic reactions to a dye in a medication. Or, maybe he has the problem my son has....whenever he gets an itchy rash it's usually always been related to someone forgetting and using dryer sheets in the laundry. I feel his allergic reactions are increased by the presence of yeast. I think I read that somewhere. This is because this is just another thing pressuring the immune system. And so allergies as well as infections are more common when you are having yeast problems. Anyways, good luck! Guest guest
I have seen die off begin within the first week each time we have used a different anti fungal. Guest guest
a tip to those experiencing itchy skin. Put oatmeal in the toe part of an old pair of panty hose. Cut it off and tie a knot in it. Leave enough panty hose so you can tie it to the tub faucet. Once you have the oatmeal "bag" in place, allow your bath water to run through it. You will be able to have an oatmeal bath without the mess. The water will be cloudy. Another thing you can do is take the wet "bag" and rub it on your skin. With that said, if you're taking Carlson's Cod Liver Oilduring your 21 day adventure, the chances are quite goodthat you won't experience dry skin at all. If you haven't yet ordered a bottle of this excellent andimportant health food, now's the time to do it. I have atablespoon of Carlson's every day of my life and youshould too. Suzi What is a weed?
