One of my teachers claims good success treating hay fever with

ragweed tincture. I made some up but haven't had a test subject to try

it out on. Trikatu, the aryvedic mix of ginger, black pepper, and

anise seed is said to have some antihistamine and mucous reducing

properties that help also. It's really easy to make with a coffee

grinder and spices from the health food store. Use whole black pepper

corns and whole anise seeds and grind each into a powder then add the

ginger. Take some on a spoon mixed with honey with every meal.

The seaweed study from Japan is interesting. It lends credence

to the load up with nutrients and your diseases disappear school of

health care.

Thanks for posting the info.

Nettle is used in teas or fresh in salads

for a natural mineral boost. It is considered a blood cleanser and helps

with some forms of arthritic pain and swelling of the joints. This is one

of those herbs I would consider very safe and almost a “food group type”

herb rather than purely medicinal.

Nettle is also a tonic for the endocrine system, cleansing and nourishing the glands. It is very effective yet completely safe and can be used over an extended period of time. It will cleanse the digestive tract and help with stomach problems. Nettle neutralizes uric acid, prevents it's crystallization aiding in its elimination from the system, thus relieving gout and arthritis. Nettle is an astringent that helps to

stop bleeding. In many areas of the world nettle leaf is considered a delicious food. It is extremely high is minerals, especially iron and calcium and many vitamins. Native American women used it during pregnancy as a tonic and as a remedy for hemorrhage during childbirth. It was and still is used by them to increase milk flow and to aid and restore or rebuild mother's energy following childbirth. It is also good for anemic children because of its high iron content and other nutrients. It can be used for hypothyroidism and to helps increase thyroid function. It helps with bloating because it is a mild diuretic. Nettle tea has a "green" taste. We feel it enhances herb teas, but if you want to "improve" this taste you could add herbs like: peppermint, spearmint, lemon balm and/or lemon verbenia. Nettle is an excellent ingredient for shampoos because it helps with dandruff and will bring back a natural color to the hair. Nettle is a very

beneficial herb to take during pregnancy. It has a rich mineral and nutritive content, improves kidney function and helps prevent hemorrhoids.
