Guest guest
Yet again we have clear evidence of class distinctions based on interpretations of law in India and reinforced by law enforcement officials to protect classes. When will India wake up to the fact that everyone who is a citizen in a democracy is equal. The Constitution apparently says so yet there is evidence clearly shown that some are more equal than others. My travel literature suggests that India is the largest democracy in the world. My observations are that in many cases it looks like 29 tribes verging on politically based civil war umpired by the constabulary who usually favour one side over the other. Citizens of India need to be more proactive, after all there are 1000 million of you. Laws need to be updated; Britain is working on their's and India should be drafting their amendments since they inherited that legal system. Then training academies that turn out constabulary need to be re-educated in democracy and the Indian Constitution and above all some Community based reality therapy about recreational drug use and casual sex might just be the solution to prevent the present figures of 4 million living with HIV/AIDS escalating to 10 million by 2010 as has been predicted by experts, if nothing changes. At least the folk in Kerala supported by colleagues from West Bengal and other places are prepared to put their money where their mouth is. More power to you all.
