Guest guest
Some gastric bypasses can be reversed, some can't. Some are dangerous to attempt to reverse. So it depends on what procedure they did on her. The clear patch she's wearing may be a Duragesic (Fentanyl) patch used for chronic pain relief. If that's what she has, be sure to let her know not to let it get hot as it starts releasing it's narcotic rapidly then. Have a friend with same and experience with 911 because the patch got hot. She's going to have a problem with any supplement that isn't liquid going into her. She probably doesn't have a long enough digestion tract time to allow pills or capsules to dissolve. Perhaps something like the powdered All One vitamins that you put in juice, shake then drink it down. They are pretty potent from what I've found. She could perhaps add to it something like a whey protein powder. Hope that's of some help. Guest guest
Hey Skip. (and Carol) What about complete nutrition???? Carol, this is something I would suggest naturopath deal with since she has had the surgery and has the patch... I would suggest a blender, smoothie machine, or something to drink raw veggies etc.. Guest guest
I’m afraid I can’t tell you if it is reversible because I don’t know what they did. Most of the time they are not. If they resected part of her stomach, the rest will stretch in time. Also, if she is on that many drugs she must have other problems, most likely related to morbid obesity. Once her weight is down to a healthier level some of these conditions may resolve on their own. Being a good supportive friend is the best thing you can do for her. Sometimes just bringing someone up out of that negative depressed state will do miracles for their health. Guest guest
I don't know the comparison between Complete Nutrition and the vitamins. Don't know how she would react on the CN. All you can do is try!! Home juicing is always a good idea too. Skip On 2/27/07, Suzanne <suziesgoats@...> wrote: Hey Skip. (and Carol) What about complete nutrition???? Guest guest
Skip, Thanks tons. I didn't even know there were various types of gastric bypasses. I tried calling this young girl yesterday and no answer nor saw her at the massage bed place. She said she has been extremely depressed since 14 and now 27. She obviously regrets this surgery to some degree. On the beds it can get very hot, but if she doesn't put this " ball " on her chest it would not touch that patch. Yikes. Thanks again for all the help. I will pass it on. I can see why she would be depressed even taking the wrong supplements. carolg > > Some gastric bypasses can be reversed, some can't. Guest guest
Suzi, Yesteday I made a smoothie and brought it with me to the massage place for her and the staff. The staff loved it, she wasn't there, nor reachable via cell or home phone. She surely needs help. Thanks. Nursing a " tooth or teeth " before I get to dentist tomorrow. I surely have infection in mouth and choose to go the antibiotic with alternative route since last night for the drugs. Today snow, so appt. moved to tomorrow per me. Thanks. carolg > Some gastric bypasses can be reversed, some can't. Some are dangerous
Guest guest
Janet, Thought I could be a friend/sort of motherish image, to this young girl but it may be impossible if she doesn't answer her phone. I know for me in that situation I would want someone that encourages them. She was so excited when she met me, but maybe I was a big high and then she dropped to a very low low when she got out of that high feeling. carolg > > I'm afraid I can't tell you if it is reversible because I don't know what > they did. Guest guest
Suzi, Where would I find super or complete tonic you referenced. The pain is gone now. The dentist is this afternoon. The article Kathy posted was great. My keyboard is refusing to delete in clumps so sorry if you have still the remains of articles from me. Maybe I need unplug the keyboard. I hate it so maybe an excuse to find a Dell one out there. carolg In health , Suzanne <suziesgoats@...> wrote: > > Carol, > Remember super or complete tonic .. swish it around in your mouth for antibiotic help. > Suzi > > cgiambri <cgiambri@...> wrote: > Suzi, > Yesteday I made a smoothie and brought it with me to the massage
