Photos of School children with HIV in Kerala

Dear Forum members,

I am a newcomer to the group. I have been a close observer (because of my

interest in media as a tool for change) of how HIV/AIDS has been reported

by the Indian media. I would like to know how the group members react to

the photos of the two kids appearing in newspapers and on television. Is

it fair to the children? Or is an outright violation of their right to

privacy especially as they are not in a position to decide whether they would

want to appear in print or TV. Or it is okay that by putting the faces to the

story, activists hope that public consciousness would be pricked?
