Guest guest
Work on some crafts! I found this great list: SewingGiftsOnTime that has loads of pictures and patterns on-line for making all kinds of little craft items, from microwavable bags to cook baked potatoes in to customized pillow cases. I'm already making a list of stuff to make out of my stash as soon as the Christmas decorations come down and I can set up my sewing machines again. If you're more into computer crafts, try the CreateACard list: cacfriends/ . You don't need to have the American Greetings CAC program, either - just any software that you can print out graphics in, even Works, will do, but the software can be found cheap enough. They even have a feature called Shareacard where you can send a card to a disabled person each month - ages range from babies through the elderly. Doing something for charity can certainly make you feel better about yourself. And there is always rubberstamping or scrapbooking to get involved in. And dollmaking/doll clothes. You mothers of daughters - this is a cheap way to dress Barbie and those American Girl dolls they got for the holidays and birthdays. And music - take up an instrument. Even a cheap plastic recorder (like a flute) will do to keep your hands busy. And knitting, crocheting, or other needlework. If anyone knows of some more frugal crafts lists, LMK please. I've found some where recommended supplies cost more than if you bought the item pre-made. So, instead of reaching for those chips, grab a knitting needle instead!
