Guest guest
Seeded grapes are the best! There is a grapeseed oil that is very good for you and guess what it's made from???? Your son is very lucky to have found grapes with seeds. I cannot find them around here, not even in my co-op. Tell him to keep chomping. I pretty much eat all the seeds in my fruits, except lemon a little too tart for me. Grapefruit seeds and watermelon seeds are my favorites. Guest guest
Faye I have been crunching on grape seed all my life and I am....well let's just say they surely are not a fast death! <GGG> Gayla Always Enough RanchAcampo, Californiahttp://bouncinghoofs.com/alwaysenough.htmlBill Barnhill is our Inspiration! Go Bill!!!aeranch@... Question about grapes Hi, hope I'm just panicking for nothing but my son came over and he was eating grapes. He is 21 years old. Anyway, I kept hearing a crunching noise so I asked him what he was doing. He said his favorite part of the grape was the seed because it's so bitter. Weird I know but he has always loved bitter tasting food. I work in an animal hospital and I know that grape seeds are very poisonous to animals because they cause kidney failure. I've tried looking up grapes to see and I have found some juice recipes for them without any mention of removing the seeds but nothing about should you remove the seeds or are they ok to eat. We went through this with apple seeds as well, turns out they are very healthy for you, in small amounts, because of the vitamin 17 count in them. Lord only knows how long he has been eating these seeds but does anyone know if they are ok? It sure would put my mind to ease or send me into a bigger panic one. I saw him doing that, thought about kidney problems in dogs and panicked. Hehe, thought I had most of my Mom training as second nature but guess not. Oh well, a little egg on the face is good for the soul, I hope. He does eat the lemon seeds as well, when he makes lemonade, he puts the entire lemon in the blender, seeds, rind and all and mixes water with a little honey. Does the same for orange juice. faye
Guest guest
Don’t worry Faye grape seeds are OK to eat. Most fruit seeds have some amount of arsenic in them but you’d have to eat an enormous amount to have an adverse affect. I don’t think grape seeds have much in them. How is his diet otherwise? It is possible he is missing some mineral that is making him crave odd things.
