Guest guest
Hi, I do not know the exact difference between Ephedra (is it a plant?) and Ephedrin (a med). But as for the latter, I have it at home for case of severe allergic reactions which I sometimes tend to have. It is supposed to get me rid of dangerous swelling (I mean inside the mouth or throat). The last time I took it I was extremely weak and trembling, also tachycardia and bronchial hyperactivity appeared. But I realized later these are common side effects. I hope I will be able to avoid taking it. Guest guest
, I used an E/C/A type stack to lose the weight after having my baby and I probably wouldn't use it again because of the side effects of coming off of it (headaches, overly tired, very grouchy). For me, Phen-Free has the same effectiveness as the ECA stack but with out the side effects. JMHO... Guest guest
I have used Hydroxicut and Xenadrine in the past. Both made me jittery at first but my body adjusted and they worked fine. I don't like to take ephedrine for too long because of the unknown risks but it does help me lose a little more fat. Phenfree works great too. Don't dismiss it because it has no ephedrine. I find I get a more intense weight lifting workout and can do a much more intense cardio and for longer periods if need be when I use these products. I only take them 4 days a week then after 3 weeks I take a week off. Your body will adjust to this product too unless you confuse it once in a while. I saw on the news last night about a 25 yr old woman who claims she had a stroke because of ephedrine and now walks with a limp. She has no proof that ephedrine caused this but there are other stories of ephedrine posing health risks. But others claim is perfectly safe for a healthy person to use. From what I have read Ephedrine opens up the lungs to take in more oxygen thus burning more calories (did you know that your breathing rate is what determines the calories you burn?) and enhancing your weight training performance. It is not to be used for more than 12 weeks at a time and Bill found the risks too much which is why he does not recommend its use. That's Bill for you...always watching out for our best interests. Good luck all! ~Laury
Guest guest
I started taking HYDROXYCUTS because I work MIDNIGHTS and needed the EXTRA BOOST of energy. I can't take it like it directs on the back. I only needed one capsule a night to help me manage. I tried to work up to 3 capsules, 3 times a day but it was TOO MUCH. I felt awful! Nausea, headache, JITTERS! Right now I bought DIET FUEL from Twin Lab. I take it when I can. Again it makes me too Jittery too if I overdo them. My Hubby takes POWERTHINS. Now I can't take them AT ALL! He was even on our local TV news here because he lost a lot of weight on them. That was neat! Take care all! Guest guest
I read an article where a lady was taking some type of ephedra and she was getting paranoia, and said she heard the voice of GOD!! LOL!! I'm not sure what he told her!! LOL!! But there are ALL kinds of side effects I guess. I think one should use there own judgment and start out SLOW. Like I said I don't use nearly what they say to use on the back of the bottle. SHEL
Guest guest
I saw a story on NBC about Ephedrine. Turns out this cop-in-training took some before his fitness test and died of a heart attack on the field. Questions have been raised about the amount of ephedrine per serving being widely varying in products like HydroxyCut and Ripped Fuel. Hmmm... Maybe I'll just take more phen free (I only take it on my cardio days now...) > I have used Hydroxicut and Xenadrine in the past. Guest guest
Apparently ephedra messes with a woman's hormonal levels. When I started to take an ephedra containing product, it messed with my cycle. I was not on an even keel with my emotions either. I stopped taking them immediately. - In a message dated 09-Aug-00 01:18:32 PM Eastern Daylight Time, kimporterfield@... writes: << I took Xenadrine for 3 weeks in March of this year. Guest guest
HI i was just checking and I read the posts on Ephedra. I just wanted to mention a really good article in OXYGEN (sept/oct) issue on Hydroxycut. The reason I mentioned this is because it gives information on the herbal version of the popular ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin (ECA) stack in the form of ma huang, guarana, and willow bark extract. I thought if anyone wanted to know more about those ingredients this article would be nice to read. okay have a great day! Priscilla

Guest guest
Rhonda, Have you tried Phen Free? Its EAS's version of Hydroxicut but without the ephedrine. And it wakes you up just as well. Guest guest
Jill- I totally agree. But I think those who died also are the ones who had the bad reactions to it, and STILL continued to take it. There are alot of people out there who can't tolerate ephedra and those who can. I am one who can and I've never had problems. But I can understand peoples fears about the stuff. ~kimmah Re: Ephedra > > For anyone with any concerns using products containing ephedra check out > > http://www.ephedrine-news.com/index.html > > Typing 'ephedra deaths' into a search engine is also rather sobering. > > > jo I would bet dollars to donuts that 90% those who died from ephedra took a LOT more than they were supposed to take. Guest guest
, It seems like it was about 4 years ago some " studies " were released by a University that the green tea would leech all the calcium out of your bones and that menopausal women shouldn't drink the tea because if your calcium is depeleted it can lead to heart attacks.. and then right behind that the FDA tried to stop the import of green tea because they found DDT in the green tea. Which they then retracted.. Guest guest
Why are they pulling sasafrass? That stuff grows wild in East Texas. We are always making sasafrass tea with it.. YUM! As for the Ephedra whether it was an herb or extract in dietary supplements, you have to watch how you take it. Personally I will miss it in my MetaboLife but then I took it according to directions. I did know one lady that was popping 3 at a time, sheesh no wonder people are dying if they are popping them like she was. I don't want to start a fight but ANY drug can cause adverse reactions; even something as supposedly innocent as antibiotics that a person has been able to take for years. Joyce -----Original Message----- From: wagner456 [mailto:jenkins@...] Shoot Annelee ! You can state what you know or how you feel about something ,, your post was fine. Contrary to popular belief Ephedra the natural herb has not killed anybody but Ephedra extract,, which is about 80 times stronger has been suspect of contributing to the deaths of some people. Many people get the natural herb and the herbal extracts mixed up and throw them together as if they are the same thing. We no longer sell the natural herb ephedra because of the negative press about it, but keep in mind there is a campaign to take all herbs and supplements away from you and me. It's a shame too because a cup of ephedra tea can bring asthma under control. Many ND will miss it. There are several herbs targeted to try to remove from the general public, sassafras ( already done) black cohosh, Kava Kava, balm of gilead, periwinkle, an attempt on green tea but it backfired.. It grows right here in Florida and has been a remedy for hundreds of years This was pulled from the market in 1969? There is only one legal sassafras tea that can be sold which has had safrole ( a compound of the tea that is suspect of liver cancer) removed. ( Pappy's Sassafras tea) A study ( just one) which fed huge amounts of sassafras caused liver cancer in rats, to make a long story short.. and then a woman who drank over a gallon of this tea a day became ill with an inflamed liver and it was pulled off the shelf. Now if they would remove safrole from nutmeg, tomatoes, black pepper, cinnamon I would feel really safe <g> Below is a link about sassafras from a man in Germany http://www.aeonglobe.com/articles/index.php?type=article & article=20020701065 122 As for the Ephedra whether it was an herb or extract in dietary supplements, you have to watch how you take it.
