There are models like the Freedom Foundation-India which I

understand have been pionners in the area of comprehensive low

cost care and support in India. It is the oldest and largest

organisation of its kind in India.

They have replicated their approach in nine different regions in 3

states in India. It addresses the needs of hundreds of children,

women and men who are living with HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Ashok Rau (Chief Executive of The Freedom Foundation- India)

is also a consultant for other developing countries to help in

implementing similar stratagies.

The amazing aspect is that Freedom Foundation does not have any

major donors or funders

UNAIDS has documented their as a case study of a best practice and

center of Excellence.

The Freedom Foundation is part of the Global Knowledge bank of

the United Nations
