Guest guest
oh, and btw... I did chat with my TCM/Acupuncturist - She said that when you have loose stools, it means " the oven isn't warm enough to bake the bread, so it comes out batter " LOL. She said that my body just isn't ready for foods from warmer climates. (I've been eating lots of raw tropical fruits and veggies). She has reccommended acidophilus before and ACV after meals, and going back to soaked and cooked grains, steamed veggies and if any fruit, steamed apple and pear. all what she calls " clean foods " . Basically, local and in season until my body gets warmer itself. So much info out there, so hard to decipher and filter what you think is best. Thoughts? Guest guest
Do you chew your foods or swallow almost whole?? What type foods are undigested? Do you take any digestive enzymes? I just wanted more information.I am not in distress, but, (pardon the graphic details) I am currently experiencing a higher-than-normal volume of nearly entirely undigested foods in my stool. I know that this is a sign of bad digestion, but I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts. I've also had a return of heartburn. I was having terrible digestion and heartburn, until my acupuncturist gave me herbs, and i went on a grain and steamed veggies (and fish) diet. It helped tremendously, but i just was curious as to other options. I have not juice cleansed in a while, but have been doing a homeopathic detox the last week. The first time I really noticed it was about 10 days ago and have been monitoring all week. I've not been eating a ton of grains, i've been drinking tons of water, and eating lots of raw fruits and salads. I hve been eating steamed veggies and a bit of brown rice and quinoa. All soaked overnight before cooking. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts -raw, cooked etc. Be a better Heartthrob. Get better relationship answers from someone who knows. Answers - Check it out. Guest guest
Shari, How did your body react when you first started going raw? Just curious as to how you did it. that's all. Just thinking about now, if i eat tons of raw, how my own body reacts... > > Raw. > > Shari >
Guest guest
My body didn't really react at all it just felt good from the start. People talk about the horrors of detox and I've only ever had some itching and headache. Try eating just watermelon all day one day and see how you feel. Or just bananas. Or fast. If my digestion was doing as yours is, I would do a water fast for at least 7 days. However, I wouldn't recommend that to anyone who has never fasted before. I've done 40 day supervised fasts and even 28 days (the month of February) so I know what to expect and my family knows to stay away from me for the first week! I'm very snarly and bitchy to say the least. Shari
Guest guest
Hi Suzi, I thought that I chewed well. Ever since I went on the macrobiotic kick, i've been chewing like crazy, but obviously not. I need to slow down!~ Everything from veggies - mushrooms, bean sprouts etc, and even rice and grain. no digestive enzymes, never tried them. But have been starting on probiotics... > Hello All, > > I just had a question, and wanted to get opinions from all sides of > the food choice coin. Guest guest
Shari, I've never actually fasted, I've juice cleansed, but never fasted. I guess I need to read up on raw and nutrition a bit. I'm hesitant, but that's just from my current bit of experience. I've felt so good while on steamed veggies etc. It's also hard to change when you WORK with your practitioners and they see what you eat. DId you go cold turkey, or bits at a time etc? I'm just sort of opening up a bit to it, that's all. I also love cooking, which makes it difficult. But really? jsut watermelon or all bananas for a day? I get flare ups like this, but not often. And not for a while. I would attribute a lot of it to stress as well. Thanks for your chat Shari, > > My body didn't really react at all it just felt good from the start. Guest guest
-Hi I think I might lend a hand ( no pun intended ;-)) I take a table spoon of metamecil every morning followed by a half cup of orginal bran and raison bran flakes with a non- fat milk. than I have a normal lunch (small) and snack at bedtime. I do juice two times a week with carrots, pears, apples, celery, and drink the juice as well as some of the raw ingredients. it does wonders for my stomach and now I am completely free of that former pain. I keep a log on my morning bm,and they are like clock work now, sometimes alittle separated but mostly healthy ones. I don,t eat cheese at all or deep fried is cut away. thats the shim from me ..hope this helps Rita -- In health , " Anne " <sarahlovell@...> wrote: > > Hello All, > > I just had a question, and wanted to get opinions from all sides of > the food choice coin. Guest guest
I would stay with local in season foods that you are more used to. Raw foods can be a bit harder to digest, but your body can and will get used to it. Test out some different foods on different days until you know what you can digest well and feel good with. Your body will tell you what you need. Also, you are on a detox so I am guessing that may have something to do with this elimination process as well. It has to come out somewhere right? Hang in there . Janet From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of Anne Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 2:19 PM health Subject: digestion issues? Guest guest
Thank you Janet - i want to get into salads and what not right now, but I think it's still too cool for that here. Maybe not but we'll give it a shot. It's a homeopathic detox, (Heel brand, again) that has 3 different homaccords in it, nux vomica homacord, berberis and then lymphosot for drainage. Support the adrenals, the liver, and then drain. Supposed to work more on a cellular level and be a bit more mild than herbal or otherwise. I think your idea of food rotating, or just trying different foods on different days is a good idea. Probably laying off dairy would hlep too! Guest guest
, How about cutting down on the grains... maybe more lightly steamed veggies? And remember detoxing always changes what is usually "normal" lol Work into raw... your body needs to adjust... and drink plenty of water. suzi Anne <sarahlovell@...> wrote: I've not been eating a ton of grains, i've been drinking tons of water, and eating lots of raw fruits and salads. Guest guest
If you are jumping into raw totally, no, you've thrown your body into a sort of "shock"... work into it. suzi Anne <sarahlovell@...> wrote: oh, and btw...I did chat with my TCM/Acupuncturist - She said that when you have loose stools, it means "the oven isn't warm enough to bake the bread, so it comes out batter" LOL. Guest guest
I'm short on time these days, but I was asked if I went 100% cold turkey. Yes and no. I have trouble sustaining 100% 100% of the time but I am always striving for 100/100%. I go for maybe 6 - 9 months and then I have some cooked for whatever reason and it sets off the craving for more cooked and then I eat badly for maybe a month or so and then it's back on track. But it sure is uncomfortable when I do eat cooked. I have that lead in the belly feeling. Shari
