Guest guest
i do not eat a lot of veggies raw except romaine lettuce, sometimes w/cukes, avocado and/or tomatoes...but mostly always the lettuce. i eat green beans cooked, but not overcooked. now that i have the vita mix, perhaps i will eat more veggies juiced. i was thinking that carrots would have too much sugar??? the axial decompression traction i have had 3 treatments thus far and have 3 more to go to see if there are any results. two days ago, i had more pain in my legs than usual...yesterday i had less than usual. we shall see. are u getting any results suzi? i'll do my best to eat more garlic. the homeo mag sulfate is the best thus far. 20 min after taking it, the pain goes away for awhile. read up on it and see and try it. the doctor told me to always take it. he did not prescribe it...i found out by research, and then when i told the dr., he said, oh, yes, that is good! duh! wonder why he didn't tell me in the first place. good thing i play my own dr!!! about the yogurt...i do not like it. can i do something to doctor it up to make it more palatable for me? thank u suzi for your help and i welcome any help i can get. > Suzi, > > i have diabetes II and what u have written is the best i have read to > help me to understand the disease. i do have a protuding belly which > has bothered me a lot, as it makes me look pregnant. no one has > brought this up in things i have read. i do not crave sugar. i DO > love bread, however, now only eat spelt bread...1-3 slices daily. i > stay off grains. i do eat quinoa. u said to eat yogurt. how about > kefir instead? i have access to the grains and would prefer to eat > that instead. i do drink water kefir and love it a lot, but wonder if > the sugar in it is harmful, even though they say that it's for the > kefir and gone (which i doubt) by the time it is fully brewed. i just > got a vita mix and will begin to juice with it. and for the garlic, > what is the easiest way to eat that many cloves each day? i do have > sciatica, and had an mri which showed it was from my lower back. i'm > seeing a chiropractor who is now treating me with a decompression > machine of a sort...only 3 sessions so far. i do not take any > medication, only homeopathic magnesium sulfate, which helps the pain > some. one thing i notice is that it is so sweet. what is your > opinion on that? thanks for any help. > > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better Heartthrob. Guest guest
Blending yogurt, ice and banana in a blender make a nice cover-up. I also add yellow squash in DH's banana smoothies to disguise raw squash. I use water or almond milk instead of yogurt for him. Guest guest
, your fruits are a natural sugar. There is a difference how about brocoli, asparagus, peas, etc... Steam your veggies - don't cook them. dianamagic2000 <babygirl.di@...> wrote: i do not eat a lot of veggies raw except romaine lettuce, sometimesw/cukes, avocado and/or tomatoes...but mostly always the lettuce. ieat green beans cooked, but not overcooked. now that i have the vitamix, perhaps i will eat more veggies juiced. i was thinking thatcarrots would have too much sugar??? Guest guest
If you have good control of your blood sugars carrots are OK in moderation. Some diabetics are told to stay away from them in an effort to eliminate anything with a higher glycemic index (sugar making potential). Beets, potatoes, and corn would also be in this category. They are a whole lot better than other choices though, so just don’t overdo anything and you should be fine.
