Guest guest
Went to dentist today. Two hours later of my visit included 10 minutes max of talk with dentist, 1 minute of xrays. Imagine that amount of time. I had scheduled appointment too. Amazing. He said: the tooth that has a hole in it, half tooth, the eye bottom tooth on left, is dead, dead and needs to come out plus there is an abcess I think he said on the nerve. He gave this tooth no hope but extraction and have heard that before from other dentists. I'm believing he is right. He took extra to show the bottom side and one tooth next to the dead tooth. The tooth, that I thought maybe had a cavity, next to the dead tooth, he thought had a cavity, but turns out it has an abcess and he he chalked it up to another root canal. The tooth on the tooth, the eye tooth, that has a " temporary " crown on it, that fell out two times, he said is NOT a temporary crown, but a regular crown. I told him there ws an odor coming from that area in an earlier conversation when we first talked today and he said that temporary crowns don't seal as well as the permanent one. Now I remember the permanent one sent out to the lab, being made, and the lab I was supposed to go to match the tooth/teeth color. Therefore, I was busy and months later never got to the lab, nor did I get the permanent he claims is in my mouth. I would not be concerned about flossing in that area too heavily if I had a permanent crown. I asked him to check his notes, he did and insisted it was a permanent. Yes, it was ordered, but never put on. Oh, it is also paid for by ME and partially by insurance months ago. The crown situation I will deal with. He said I need to go to the specialist and have the root canals done or I can loose the few teeth that I am working too save with infections spreading throughout. I will call the specialist, get the appointment, find out the cost first, and then deal with the root canals as I feel I am running low on choices besides pulling teeth and not being able to afford implants at this time for one and many. I will speak to the specialist about the situation again as I met him once before and secretly he told me to get to the dental school for their work and save tons vs. dealing with him or my dentist. The dental school refused me twice due to my extensive work that needs to be done. The dentist said once I remove the dead tooth then we are talking about bridge, partial or implant. The specialist was not impressed with this dentists work either, but since I am under a plan I wanted to stay put till I finished. So you got the update and it is surely frustrating that we don't get a new set of teeth or the gaps to be filled in every few years when we reach 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80. I can't imagine why society is being so slow in even getting us affordable teeth to grow in like seeds do for a plant. Well, thanks so much for your support and wisdom. Tune in and will keep you updated. No teeth are even lose, and no pain although my first pill of the day I took for pain tonight I threw up....may try another one tonight to keep the infection down. Unbelievable must I say................... I thought my keyboard was acting up from earlier post, but think it is really the mouse. Sorry....till it gets replaced.....need printer too...need keyboard also...got a working computer at least....thankful in ALL things. Even when I got the dentist report, called husband and said I have to celebrate the report of root canals, etc. He thought I was crazy. He asked why: I said I have gas in my car, still have teeth so I headed to Whole Foods--my normal stops for buying and not just a special occasion to celebrate.
