Wockhardt AIDS Foundation Joins Hands With UNDP

OUR CORPORATE BUREAU MUMBAI, JAN 17: Wockhardt - HMI HIV/Aids

Education And Research Foundation (WHARF) has tied up with United

Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to provide online training and

counselling programmes in HIV/AIDS. WHARF has also tied up with

Ranbaxy Laboratories for providing training to Ranbaxy's field force

on antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Announcing the two projects, WHARF trustee Nafisa Khorakiwala

said, " The two new assignments for UNDP and Ranbaxy are a tribute to

the quality of WHARF's training programmes. During the first year, we

have made definite inroads by imparting training to care providers in

prevention and management of the epidemic. The credit for this goes

to WHARF's faculty consisting of experts from India and those from

Harvard Medical. "

UNDP has chosen WHARF as its collaborator for providing online

trading on its HIV/AIDS protal for Asia Pacific, www.youandaids.org.

The dedicated site has emerged as the number one resource for

information and services on HIV/AIDS in the region.

WHARF president Col. LJS Gill said, " it's a desperate struggle for

any person or nation to build a better future in the shadow of death.
