Guest guest
Okay, now I see the diagnosis and what was said. I hadn't gotten to this message before I wrote my previous one. Let us know if anyone can be of assistance to you. Shari
Guest guest
So just hauling trash or any other heavy load can cause spontaneous fracture on a weak vertebra. I'm sure I have bone loss. But this may have happened regardless of that. A month before I was doing some serious cleaning, rearranging heavy furniture, hauling lots of trash outside etc. in my own house with no problem. In the accident incident I was not only lifting and dragging heavy trash bags, I was carrying it in a narrow space down 2 flights of stairs so my body was really contracted. The vertebrae could have been weak but maybe even a strong one could have busted doing that. My actions were the proverbial "accident waiting to happen." Guest guest
Sometimes when we get older we lose just enough bone tissue to be more prone to fracture. The spine is under tremendous stress all our lives just to keep us walking upright. So just hauling trash or any other heavy load can cause spontaneous fracture on a weak vertebra. Some women actually get small fractures and don’t know it till they have an x-ray for something else. That sounds way too serious to just be laying on the couch. I know my back hurts from JUST laying on the couch without any fractures. How are you treating it and how the heck did you break it? Hauling trash seems like it would pull muscles before it would fracture anything. I'm not saying it's not broken, but if you had it diagnosed as broken, didn't they at least give you something to support the area? A truss or something? I'm excited about the job. I can cook, just not French gourmet. I know how to handle a knife and that's pretty important and I know how to make a plate look good and that's very important. And I know if you leave it in the oven too long it burns and dries out, whatever it is you're cooking. Luckily the cooking part is not my responsibility, it's the teacher and the kids. I am going to have more responsibilities as to setting up, running the restaurant during open times and of course clean up because who knows a high school kid that can clean good enough to pass inspection from the Health Department?! Guest guest
Get better soon Gloria, we love ya. THANKS Janet! This laying on my back for 3 weeks is wearing thin. Today I decided to spice things up and move from the bed to the couch so I could watch tv. This whole ordeal is painful and BO-RING. Guest guest
Well if it makes you feel any better, I hopped down from a short step-down at the college and my torso went one way while my legs went another. I couldn’t get up the next day LOL. Now I try to remember I am not 20 anymore and to step down more lightly J Get better soon Gloria, we love ya.
