Guest guest
Victor - Pedialyte, or homemade Pedialyte, perhaps? At his age and if he's getting that sick, I would take him to the ER or the clinic. My daughter had giardias at around 5 and it is nothing to mess with, particularly in a small child - it can be very dangerous. My daughter picked her's up from daycare, but the entire family had to be treated. Do you know where your son picked up the bugs? When our family doctor confirmed the diagnosis he was required to report it to the health department, and they in turn got involved with the day care center, etc. It turned out to be a big deal. If you don't eradicate the critters totally they can stay in the body and cause great damage over time. Guest guest
At 3 you may need to take him to a dr or hospital if he is continuing to get weaker. Pedialyte or similar may help.... but you don't want him to get dehydrated .. Slippery elm will calm the stomach but if the meds aren't working and he continues to not keep anything down... I would get him to a hospital as small children go down quicker than adults. Victor Valdez <vivaldez@...> wrote: Hi allMy 3 years old little son, has been diagnosed with giardias andamoebas. Guest guest
Forgot to add for treating giardia... - try some garlic clove oil on the bottoms of his feet... garlic is good for parasites.. Take a few cloves and crush them and pour oil over them... I usually use a baby food jar (size wise) Put 2-3 cloves in and fill with olive oil. Garlic this way is safe for little ones. Guest guest
, Thanks for update. Now rethinking yes to taking this child to ER for immediate care. We can't let him stay that way as we are trying to figure it out. We can help him probably flush after he gets these critters out of the body. carolg > > >Hi all > > > >My 3 years old little son, has been diagnosed with giardias and > >amoebas. Guest guest
Mayleen, I've never had experience with VANQISH. I do know that if the area is thoroughly cleaned up, then a mixture of bleach in water can be used for sanitation. However it must be thoroughly aired out and dehumidified to prevent the mold and mildew. Usually the best bet is to clean out *everything* down to the studs, clean up, treat everything including the studs with the bleach water solution. Once thoroughly dried (days later, sometimes weeks) then and only then can rebuilding commence. Often a pressure sprayer is used for this purpose for the bleach water solutuion. Again, only with very adequate ventilation. Chlorine, bromine and flourine are all more reactive than Iodine. Iodine is required by all glands in the human body to make the proper hormone production. Keep this in mind when working with bleach water solution (chlorine in the tap, chlorine in the bleach, flouride in the tap, etc) Jeri On Fri, Jul 3, 2009 at 6:36 PM, dragonflymcs <dragonflymcs@...> wrote: > > > Down stairs apt to my left and below has mold and sewer back-up. Guest guest
Thank you, I am not doing the clean-up. It is not my apartment, however I have been reacting to mold here. Remediators are doing this and are not litsening to my concern about chemicals. There is both mold and raw sewage in that apartment. Most of the apartment was wet with raw sewage. Mold had been growing for aprox. 2 months now due to an A/C leak that was never taken care of. According to my readings chlorine should never be used to clean mold. I have MCS as well so I cannot tolerate chemicals at all my lungs sieze up. Dragonfly ... Breaks illusions, Brings visions of power, No need to prove it, Now is the hour! Guest guest
Mayleen, Are you concerned about the appropriateness of use for the situation, if it is properly registered with the EPA, compliance with the EPA label, effect on you, or other concerns? If the Vanquish they are using is what I see at http://www.goldstarproducts.net/obj%5CuploadedImages%5C175 label1305329810.pdf then it may be appropriate for the sewage but not much help for the mold. The instructions specifically limit its use to hard non-porous surfaces. Sewage is potentially much more harmful than mold because of the infectious organisms typically found in it and should be treated with something which kills them. However, if the intent is for killing mold that doesn't help so it must be removed. Furthermore, the label includes these words, " VANQUISH is a mildewstat ... " This means it stops the amplification of mold but is not designed to kill sufficiently to sanitize or sterilize. It also says it inhibits the return of mold growth but must be reapplied every 7 days. It does carry EPA Reg. No. 6836-140-68562 which means the label is the law. It must be used precisely according to the directions on the label and not used in situations not specifically listed (there is a long list on the label). Guest guest
I have Chemical Intolerance which requires accomodations be made to protect our lives according to ADA they can have us removed number 1 until they finish with something that will not cause yet another problem on re-entry, anyone of these can kill us, the mold, the sewage, the chemicals I am looking for a safer alternative to give them. They really do not care if it kills anyone from what we were told directly. Dragonfly ... Breaks illusions, Brings visions of power, No need to prove it, Now is the hour! Guest guest
Sewage is potentially dangerous from at least two aspects. One is the dampness with microbial growth and related health problems. The other is HYDROGEN SULFIDE AND OTHER REDUCED SULFUR COMPOUNDS. My questio is what are you reacting to one or both of these conditions? Jack D.
