Guest guest
Gloria now has a web site! http://www.myspace.com/all4gloria It's been created by Debra, the advocate, and will have before and after pictures of her home, etc. It's pretty rudimentary, and I found some mistakes, but at least it's up! Yes, she is being released from rehab tomorrow (I believe Debra said last night that it was Thursday, not Friday, but I could be mistaken). She will be staying with a friend (not sure if it's Gloria's friend or Debra's friend). Just a little clarification...the church contractors are not asking for money for services and are providing materials at cost (some donated). The contractor who wants money is a friend of Ernie's, and I don't believe they are going to use him. There are too many resources to call upon that are donating time and/or materials to have to pay someone for this work. I called a reporter friend in the Reading/Fleetwood area and she is going to have the paper do a human interest story on Gloria and the whole situation. This should bring in more donations. I also suggested that Debra contact the local service clubs, such as the Lions, Kiwanis, and Rotary. Hopefully, she'll get additional help there. That's all I know for now...but, Suzi, you may want to set Gloria to No Mail until she can get back to a computer. She's probably bouncing. Sharyn -----Original Message----- From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of cgiambri They are trying to get the house work started/done, but we shall see. Some people need to be paid for their services even if less, but that could be an issue for some contractors.
Guest guest
Gloria hasn't bounced yet... but I did put her on no emails for now. This is all so wonderful for her and I am so glad that this is happening because Gloria is such a nice person. (Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!)... "Sharyn E. Guest guest
Sharyn, Thanks. I didn't know of Ernie's friend the contractor but that is not who I was originally referencing. This is Gloria's friend who would have needed financial assistance with bathrooom project. Great about website. Debra is amazing. Yes, the paper is great too for contact. I pray others are blessed abundantly as a result of this story and not just the one Gloria....there are many in this situation, who need help, don't have the Debra out there, so praying it makes their lives easier some way. Off to work the body. Yes, Gloria's emails are bouncing so thanks. Guest guest
I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the players.<G> But in any event, there's not enough money available to pay full price for these projects...from what Debra said, he wanted at least $1,500 just for the bathroom! Our dollars have to stretch much farther than that... Guest guest
I am not aware of the $ amount for the bathroom project other than estimated time involved 60 hours. She would have shower installed vs. tub for Gloria bathing. I suppose we'll all just tune in. Will be calling Gloria later. She's really getting a workout in rehab. Thanks for updates Sharyn. hugs, carolg > > I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the players.<G> But in any > event, there's not enough money available to pay full price for these > projects...from what Debra said, he wanted at least $1,500 just for the > bathroom! Guest guest
Just spoke with Gloria. No word yet where she is going tomorrow from Rehab. She's very grateful for all who are in her life and her hard working advocate Debra who is non stopping trucking along. Gloria was told her emails were bouncing so glad they aren't Suzi. bathroom project: Yes, she confirmed it would be $1500 total for materials and labor. It is her friend who would be doing that large renovation, gutting out bathroom, if it becomes reality. Would be nice if Depot or Lowe's if in area can help with materials. Well, that's all it for now. Have a great day all. hugs, carolg....... > > > > I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the players.<G> But in > any > > event, there's not enough money available to pay full price for > these > > projects...from what Debra said, he wanted at least $1,500 just > for the > > bathroom!
