And of course as soon as I posted that the advocate called! Gloria is

staying with a woman named (sp?)...the phone number is 610-296-6623.

Debra, the advocate, said when she went to Gloria's house yesterday there

was a brand new television and DVD player there, all hooked up. She has no

idea where they came from, but is planning to call Ernie to see if he knows.

My PA handyman who is taking care of my vacant home there has volunteered

eight hours of labor and materials to fix things needed around the house.

Debra met with a contractor/inspector yesterday at the house and he's going

to work up a schedule of what needs to be done and what materials will be

needed to accomplish that. So someone who volunteers can just pick off a

project and know what is necessary for that.

Anyone who lives in the PA area...if you could check the PA

Craigslist...Gloria is looking for a used (or free) toilet and sink for the

bathroom, plus piping materials. If someone belongs to a Freecycle list in

that area, please check that also. I belonged to both when I was in PA, but

not now in Florida.

She does have Meals on Wheels delivering meals (yes, not the best, but it's

food and it's free...), plus food stamps. She has a support chair of some

sort which was paid for by her insurance, plus things like grabbers so she

can reach things without bending or stretching too far.

I think that's all for the moment.

Just tried calling the phone number you shared today and there was a

recording " this phone number (or maybe they said box) is not

initialized. " I'm clueless here. Maybe Gloria was " given " a

cell????

Wow, what a nice surprise that a TV and dvd appeared!

I don't know if there are lots of thrift stores around, but I have

seen in our CO ones even toilets so maybe an option. Usually cheap

too. Reading, PA sounds like a large city however. Just a thought

rather than waiting on freecycle.

I just re-read the long letter I forwarded on from Debra, the advocate, and

it looks to me like she gave me the wrong number. But you can call Debra

(her number is on the email) and ask her what the correct number is. I'm

sure she'd love to talk to you, Carol!

Thanks again for Gloria updates. I didn't see Debra's number on any

email. Did I miss it somehow? Maybe my excuse is 7 hours on

concrete at a college football game I worked and I've got tired

feet. Yes, it does have something to do with the whole body.

I would love to call Debra, thank her, and get Gloria's number to

see how she is doing. I surely would love talk to our Gloria.
