Hi Debra,

Glad to hear you are home and that the surgery went

well. I envy you the time to just sit and crochet,

but not enough to undergo major surgery :)

Oh Paige, I am so glad to hear that you are doing ok! And glad that

your surgery is still on schedule in spite of this hitch!

Hmmmm.... I wonder how many of us achalasians have ulcers and don't

know it? That's one thing I just could NOT figure out about my ulcer

last year.... how on earth could I have an ulcer and never even have

a twinge of pain from it? My personal conclusion was that my gastric

nerves are just all ka-floowy -- they send the wrong signals no

matter what the situation.

Did the doc put you on an acid reducer to help the ulcers heal? Did

they test you for H. pylori (mine was negative, further confusing me

as to how on earth I got an ulcer in the first place)?

Hope you're feeling better and better each day!

I am glad you had a great experience. Dr. Miyamoto Sr. and young Dr.

Miyamoto both work with my son. They are both excellent doctors.

I got home yesterday and feel pretty good. I really am thankful that I

have such a great doctor. He was there to walk me into the operating

room and was there in recovery when I came to and also to visit several

times while I was in there.

Nothing like the confidence a great doctor can give you.

Everything went well and they even had a computer for me to play on in

the recovery room until they had a room for me. I did stay overnight

and am glad I did. I wanted to be strong enough when I came home to

carry on with things, especially my great grand daughter. She is

sleeping right now so no problem.

The hospital people were fantastic and everything went very good.

Just checking in to let you know I am just fine.

I loved all that special attention!! Dr. Miyamoto is one of the best

doctors in the world as far as I am concerned!!

Dr. Myamoto is my hero as far as I am concerned and he certainly is a great

doctor as well as a great person. He has such a sparkling personality!!

You can tell your son to tell him he is number two in my book. Right after

Charley Pride!!

Dr. Miyamoto is one of the greats! He was my first CI doctor 17 years ago.

Can't ask for better. Cheers, Ruth

Oh I agree! How many doctors take the time to come in and talk to you and walk

you into the operating room? He is such an angel. I swear by him.

Was there any difference between the first and second surgeries? What is the

Funny both doctors are parent and child in the cochlear dept. Same with my

doc and daughter.

There was a lot of difference. The time span was four years but this incision

is much smaller. There was a lot of difference in the way the surgery was done

and the time frame etc. I feel darn good at home here now too. And really no

restrictions on lifting. Just use my common sense he says!! Sure~~~ No

comments now everyone that knows me!

basically though it hasn't been bad at all. My hook up date is August the 8th

so we will see how it all works out! I am confident that I will be able to

hear!

Hi ,

Well, happy early birthday! I hope you and your hubby have wonderful

ones! As if regular plastic surgeons aren't convincing

enough....your sister had to go and get someone who deals with the

stars. Boy, the dumb luck. You're so great to be there for her. It's

so sad though, you two probably won't be close until she admits that

implants could make her sick. But when that day comes, you two will

probably never be closer. There's hope in every situation. I can't

wait for the day when all my sisters openly love each other.

It's so great that you're willing to share your personal stories

with the young people that are sexually active. People really don't

understand that you can get STD's from even the only person you've

ever been with. That's the tricky part...you'd think you'd be safe

if the two of you dated for years. Maybe this will get to be the

next issue some of us will be able to address. Like I said, I'll

have to build myself up for this one. Oh, and I'm determined to try

and help my future children stay away from sex until they're ready.

I think that one of the keys to this is to have a loving, father-

daughter relationship. That would have definitely helped me. Young

girls seek male attention. Period. Little girl babies seek male

attention. Heck, it doesn't go away....we will ALWAYS seek male

attention :)

And thank you so much for your encouragement! I love all of my

silicone sisters :) Everyone here, and that has gotten sick from

implants IS my new family. It would be wonderful if we could all

meet one day. And I bet you anything....we will.
