Dear Rita,

The members of our group follow the diet in my article. Some people

may modify it slightly, but mainly they follow the principles of my

candida diet. Se the Candida Diet folder for handy lists and such.

Hi, Rita

I'm finding the diet difficult as well (mostly at lunch).

Here's an example of my diet this week:

Breakfast: Two hard boiled eggs (easy to make and throw in your bag on

the way to work!)

Lunch: Tuna or grilled chicken. I put a little cold pressed olive oil,

salt and pepper in the tuna and then as many veggies as possible

(cherry tomotoes, celery, cucumber, green beans). See Bee's file for

which tuna to buy.

Dinner: Last night I panfriend prawns in coconut oil, garlic and fresh

lemon juice. They were delicious! With that I had steamed brussel

sprouts with lemon. The night before I had samon burgers (patties made

with canned wild alaskan samon, 1 egg, chopped red onion, pan fried in

coconut oil - with avocado on top at the end).

I haven't really been snacking because a) it's difficult to find snacks

on this diet and B) After about a week I didn't really feel the need to

snack anymore.

This is really difficult, but it really does get easier (especially

with the help of a great boyfriend!). Plus I've lost 5 kilos without

changing my exercise routine - that def. keeps me motivated!

I hope that helped. I'm still working on finding better lunch

options. I'm sure it will help when I start making my own mayo (recipe

in Bee's files).

Cheers,

Gloria

Oh I forgot about the other question!

I'm currently taking Cranberry extract, Vitamin C, Garlic extract and

cod liver oil. I'm also taking probiotics mostly because I've always

taken them. But I've read Bee's post about not taking probiotics in

the beginning of the diet. I'm meeting with a nutrionist this weekend

at an alternative health centre near my house and she'll probably give

me more supplements to take.

I was taking an anti-fungal (grapefruit seed extract), but I have

stopped since reading that it should be taken at the beginning of the

diet.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,

Gloria

Dear ,

How else did prednisone hurt you. I thought 5 mg was supposed to be a safe

I wanted to add that I never had a staph infection until I had been on pred.

I thought that 5 mg of prednisone was supposed to be safe too, what side effects

are to be expected?

I made a HAWK candle page and lit a candle

for Gloria here:

http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng & gi=HAWK

It’s kind of fun to send virtual

energy.

Also, if anyone cares to join in…my

sister’s 21yo stepson was killed in Iraq two weeks ago. His body has

been returned home and his memorial service is this afternoon at 4:00pm

Eastern. I have also made a candle page for him here if anyone would like to

light a candle for him and his family:

http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng & gi=BThor

I have several friends in the area of Fleetwood, PA,

and will email them to ask if there aren’t some resources nearby that

Gloria could call upon.

Many of you on this list know Gloria. And many of you know she is

not doing too well right now.. She is unable to work and in much

pain..

I would like to ask you all to keep Gloria in your thoughts and

prayers.

If anyone could or would like to help Gloria out let us know and we

will get Gloria's address to you. As many of you know Gloria lives alone

so this makes things harder for her.

If any one is close to Fleetwood,

PA and wants to visit her,

let me know. I'm sure she could use some company and a smiling face.

It's no trouble. Quite the reverse really. It is an honor and a privilege to help another in a time of need. That's how I always looked at my nursing career. I got a paycheck every two weeks in the form of money but that's not what I lived on. I lived on the feeling I got of making another person feel better in some way. Any way I could. That was my real pay.

Thanks Sharyn for setting up both candles I lit but didn't see them

come up yet.

Great you have friends in Fleetwood, PA that may be able to share

some resource information for Gloria. I just spoke with her and for

the amount of pain she is in she sure has a great attitude for a

super healing miracle.

Praying for strength for your family's loss of the 21 y.o. step son

Also, one of my friends said her mother has a friend who does advocate work

for people.

Thanks Sharyn. A friend of mine has been making me macrobiotic platters nearly everyday so I won't need Meals on Wheels. People have been very generous with bringing me food.

They both said there is a Meals on Wheels in the area.

Here is the Berks County Human Resources & Services Directory:

http://www.co.berks.pa.us/berks/lib/berks/departments/humanservices/director

ies/berks_county_human_service_directory.pdf

I'm sure that link will break, so make sure to copy and past the whole two

lines into your computer.

Here are the listings for Meals on Wheels near Fleetwood (same caveat with

the link):

http://www.mealcall.org/meals-on-wheels/pa/reading.htm

Also, one of my friends said her mother has a friend who does advocate work

for people. I've asked her to get the phone number and will get back to

you.

Feel better soon, Gloria!

Okay. Please let me/us know if there is *anything* we can do!

You guys have been great.

The truth is the back problem isn't an isolated ailment. They also found I have cancer which has more than likely spread to my back (tests are pending). This is all tied in together and, from a medical prognosis, doesn't look promising.

People have brought me food and sometimes keep me company. which is great. I still have no income or financial resources and don't know how anything is going to get paid but don't have the strength to think about it, if that makes sense. I applied for welfare and have an appt. with them in 2 weeks. I have no idea what or how much I'll get from them. Every single thing in my life is up in the air right now and I take it one day at a time. One minute at a time.

So, guys...that's the scoop on me.

Love,

Gloria
