Guest guest
Hillary, Congrats on the new band and just make sure you don't make the mistake I made: take the band off every 3 hours to wipe away the sweat for the first few days- my hubby didn't tell me that part and poor developed a heat rash! Good luck ' Mom
Guest guest
Hi all, got his band yesterday..he didn't like it when they were making adjustments, and I'm still not sure if it's bothering him or not. We did survive the night though. Boy does his head sweat!! He sweats a lot when he sleeps too without the band. How do I know if it's bothering him? I think he's teething too and he was so crabby yesterday on and off, he's usually a good tempered, happy boy so I hope it's the teething. Unless he's just upset at both the teething and band. I am also in the process of my 1st appeal, gathering all the data I need, hopefully I will get approved this time around, I know someone else that works with my husband and they just got their approval on the 2nd appeal and Cranial Tech says that if I mention this I can tell them they can't discriminate..I hope it works..we are paying out of pocket for now. --Hillary (mom to and big brother Tyler)
Guest guest
Hillary: It sounds like things are going relatively well with 's new band! It is hard to tell if it's the band bothering him or something else. As long as he isn't getting any red spots that don't go away within one hr., I would say the band is fine. Be sure to check for redspots periodically. The sweating will get a lot better over the next 2 wks or so. It is always bad at first. 's body temp. will adjust to wearing the band in a short time. If he is a regular sweater though, you may want to dress him lighter and/or keep his room a bit cooler than normal. Good luck with it. It gets better every day! Guest guest
Hillary, Glad to hear that has received his DOCband. It will take a little while for him to adjust, but it won't be long before he will be back to normal. He will adjust a little more each day until it will seem unusual to see him without the band on! The sweating also gets better as his body temperature adjusts to wearing the band. Best wishes and keep us posted! Guest guest
Hi Hillary, I'm glad to hear that got his band. The sweating is a minor drawback to the band, but luckily you're doing this in the winter. If he sweats this much now, can you imagine what he'd be like during the hot days of summer? After about a week or two his body will get accustomed to wearing the band and the sweating will decrease. I'm hoping that if he is in fact teething, he cuts that tooth quickly! Good luck with fighting Cigna, let us know how it goes! Guest guest
Hey Hillary congratulations to Mom and -way to go. will let you know if the band is really bothering him-trust me when 's bothered him he tried to pull it off otherwise he left it alone-he was a little fussy to start but he adjusted quickly then when he was fussy I was always convinced it was the band but it ended up being other stuff. I am sure he is doing great! You will have to post some pictures when you get them. Good luck with your insurance appeal and let us know how it goes!
