glasses and helmet therapy??

Does anyone have experience with their child wearing glasses and the

band at the same time? My son is 13 months old and has been wearing

glasses since he was 10 months old and now he has to wear the band.

But the glasses won't fit under the band no matter how much it was

shaved. We are now having him wear the band at night and the glasses

during the day, but it is going to take much longer for his head to

mold now. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know.

Thank you so much.

Hi again:

I knew I had seen a picture somewhere of a DOCband baby wearing

glasses while in his band!! Click here to see his picture in the

2002 DOCband baby calendar:

I would really think that it would work just fine having your son in

glasses & the band at the same time. I would actually think the band

would help keep the glasses on his head better! Is your son wearing

a STARband?

I really hope someone can help you with this, keeping your son in his

band for 23 hrs will give you the best results and keep him in his

glasses at the same time. I just think baby's in glasses are soooo

darn cute, I could just hug em!

Good luck.

Oh here is another thought since the glasses aren't fitting under the band

even when shaved-although I don't understand why. Maybe you could fit him

with a wider frame-so to speak and put one of those stretchy cords on the

glasses to keep them on and put the glasses on the outside of the helmet.

Does this make sense???

Hi again!

Thanks for sending the picture of the child with glasses and the

band. The sides of his band (in front of his ears) looks similar to

my son's band, so I am not sure how they made his glasses fit under

the band. This child's band looks more open in front than my son's

so that might make a difference. I will pass this on to our Orthotist

and see what he thinks.

Thanks again!!
