Hillary:

What a crazy time you're having!

If the spot isn't bright red, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. may just be adjusting to his new hat. One thing that crossed my mind is to make sure that the band is COMPLETELY dry after cleaning it with the alcohol. That stuff is good for cleaning, but can be harsh on the skin if any residue is left over. Try sitting the band in direct sunlight for about 1/2 an hour after you clean it, and if none is available, use a cool blow-dryer for a few minutes.

Of course, double check with your clinician, as s/he will know best.

Good luck with daycare and the testing!!

Forehead peeling and a little read after 3rd day in Doc Band

Hi, has anyone else experienced this? got his band Wednesday, and for the first 2 days, was fine, just a little sweaty. But when I took it off for his bath last night, his forhead was peeling and red (but not the bright red that they told us was bad), although we kept if off last night and it's still there.Should we put it back on??? I really didn't want to go through the two days of sweating again, he will be starting day care tomorrow and I don't know if they will take if off and dry him and the band properly and he gives us a hard time when we do it. I am also a little worried since he won't be familier with the caregiver, he had a nanny until Thurs when she called and said she might have Mono (confirmed yesterday!!) So I am worried that my kids might have Mono and I am worried about him starting daycare (2nd time, he had to stay home because he kept getting sick and got pneumonia and was hospitalized in November) and I am worried about the Mono, both of my boys are getting tested tomorrow.Anyway, I left a message for CT like they told me and don't know if I should put the band back on until then. Have any of you experienced this before????HillaryFor more plagio info

Hello!! we experinced the same thing with Korben. They told us that if it is still red after taking it off for the hour(especially real red) to leave it off and call them and tell them that his head was still red. Korben's didnt stay that red after the hour so we put it back on his head. But if i was you, i would give them a call first thing in the morning and see what they tell you. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for the help...I think the band has been dry, we did

put it back on after keeping it off overnite and he seemed to be

better. I also used more alcohol yesterday and had to dry it with a

towel. I will try the cool dryer today since we give him his bath at

night and there is no more sunlight.

CT told me if it looks like sunburn with peeling, it's from the

sweat, exactly what he looks like, so she told us to put a little

cortesone on after his bath.

Thanks for everything!!!
