Guest guest
Hi everyone, Jack has been wearing his DOC band for about 6 mos. It has corrected his facial asymmetry and ear asymmetry which I am absolutely overjoyed about. However, he still has a huge flat spot at the back and a bulge on the right side. I have much lingering guilt over starting late because of incompetent doctors and my own stress causing me to not put him at the top of my priority list, etc etc. Anyway, the situation now is that he is now 18 mos and at the last appt (Jan 3) the ortho said to take the band off because it wont make any difference now. The problem is I wasn't there to hear her explanation. Last time I went she said to keep it on for as long as possible, until he outgrows the band. My husband and rest of family want it off. He is not wearing it now. What do you think? I am particularly concerned because he sleeps on his back. Could I leave it on only at night? I thought that might be OK because his head is growing really slowly right now. I know I should call the ortho to discuss it, and I will, but I also wanted to get some thoughts from the rest of the group. I think she will probably let me do whatever I want to at this point. Thanks!!!! (mom of ) in VancouverJoin the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. Click Here
