OT: Is this selfish or what!!

Hi everyone,

I am so darn mad at my sister and I need to vent for a few seconds...

As you are all parents, I want to ask your opinions on something. In

the province of Alberta, a whole bunch of teachers have taken a strike vote

and it turns out that thet will be going on strike on Feb 4. Thay are waiting

until the Diploma exams are done so they do not leave the high school kids

graduating this year in the lurch. It does not help those in the younger grades,

for instance my two nephews in grade 8 and grade 3. They will be left having

to repeat the grade if the strike goes on for a long time.

I, being a very patient person(and I am also waiting for Livia to go to school so I can

go to University and get my Elementary Education degree) offered to home

school my sisters kids free of charge as a learning experience. I offered to pay

for all of the supplies I would need, as well as all the fees and etc from the board

of education and the cirriculum books.

She said" Oh, well it is too far a drive to your house everyday(15 minute drive!)

so I think they will have to probably repeat the grade.

AM I NOT WRONG TO BE VERY VERY ANGRY! I think this is the most selfish

thing she has ever done! God forbid she have to drive an extra 1/2 hr a day to make

sure her kids are being educated and that their self esteem is intact from not having

to repeat a grade! Oh well, I am glad to have that off my chest....

But I am still mad!
