Guest guest
Hi Sara and welcome to the group! I'm so glad to hear that you have already started the process since Logan is at a terrific age to receive wonderful correction. The hardest part of this whole thing is the casting process, and you already have that behind you! We were oh so lucky to be wearing the bands during the hot days of summer, so sweating was a problem for a bit. But after the first couple of weeks, the twins body temp. adjusted to having their new hat on and the sweating did decrease. I was very fortunate that they really had no problems adjusting to wearing the bands (other than the sweating) after a day or two and sleeping in the bands was never an issue. I am so blessed to have babies that LOVE to sleep and the helmets never got in their way off enjoying a good night's sleep or a catnap. Kaylie had some slight facial assymetry due to the plagio, but to look at her now you really would never know. I think I'm the only one that sees it, but thats because I'm the mommy and I know every inch of their bodies! ;o) If I remember correctly, I started to see some changes in Kaylie and Danny within the first month, it really was amazing to get results so quickly! I have some before and after pictures of Kaylie's facial assym. in the photos section of this group, they're under Niki's Kids, feel free to check them out! I do have to mention though that I honestly believe with every ounce of my being that the reason why I am so pleased with our results is because of my ortho. He had 20 years experience treating babies with helmets and he had a great attitude towards us. He never treated me like an idiot like my neuro had, and he treated my kids like they were his own. I hope you are as fortunate as I was to get an ortho like that. I read in another email that you said you had heard good things about your ortho and that is wonderful, it will make all the difference! Do you mind if I ask who your ortho is? Our one moderator, Marci, lives in OK also and it would be interesting to see if you are using the same person, I'm pretty sure her ortho now deals with the STARband. Good luck to you and Logan! Let us know when his band comes in! If I can ever answer any other questions for you, please don't hesitate to ask!
