He recommended a localy made band. It is called

Nic Band. It is approved by the FDA.

Just so you know, the NICband is actually not FDA approved. The NIC

band is really a STARband made by Orthomerica.

That is great you will be getting a band. You are starting

treatment at a great age. You should see good & fast results.

Go to plagiocephaly.org webpage, and there is a link to take you

to " questions to ask you dr. " This will give you good questions for

the orthotist as well.

Thanks so much for letting me know that! The brochure I have says

that the NIC Band is FDA approved but they are just putting their

name on the STARBand. Kinda deceiving. I will definitely mentioned

that at the evaluation on Monday.

Any comments on the STARBand?

Thanks,

Dina and

Hey Dina we have had lots of moms happy with the star and not as well as with locally made helmets. Just grill Your orthotists on how much experience he or she has with helmet therapy how many people he has treated and are there any other mom's you might be able to talk to about their experience with it/him. As long as you are comfortable that your orthotists knows what they are doing then any product can be effective-it is all in the orthotists. Here is a comparison link of the available devices. Best of luck to you!
